Premier League Games | 15/16/17/18 August '25

The sky smoke blowing is excruciating.
Only 9 months of it to go :(
Even the minutes silence was made out to be amazing while us at home could here the clapping and the call outs.

Still another 9 months of post match post mortems of why United are shit

And thats why I don’t watch the Rags or Scousers live on TV.

Instead I watch the highlights when United get beat. :-)

Missed the games so far but reading up on BBC I see Palace had a free kick goal disallowed because a player was within 1 metre of the wall (or something like that). It's not a rule I remember seeing before. Is it something commonly applied or a new rule?

As per the BBC:

Simply, the goal was chalked off because a Palace player was standing too close to the Chelsea wall.

Referee Darren England made an announcement to the crowd to explain the decision.

He said: "After review, away number six is less than one metre away from the wall as the shot is taken. Therefore, it's an indirect free-kick and a disallowed goal."

The International Football Association Board's Law 13 states that when three or more defending team players form a wall, all attacking players must remain at least one metre from the wall until the ball is in play.

This rule was introduced to the laws of the game in 2019-20.

When Wolves had a couple of half chances early on yesterday, the USA commentators were all over "same old City - wide open at the back". Funnily enough no narrative around Arsenal who have looked far more shaky against a worse team (based on last season's table)

I see Cunha has been added to Drury's list of players for which he will always obnoxiously shout their full name, occasionally followed by "for Manchester United" for emphasis.

Salah and Fernandes not so special any more.

Arsenal won’t win any titles relying on set pieces. Their open play is so poor
