52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

Biggest difference between Oscar and all the other wide players we have is an inbuilt ability to find the right final pass more often than not. He is a real talent and you could see yesterday Wolves often had 3 players closing him down which left space all across the forward line.

BTW I don't agree with those on the match day thread that say "it's only Wolves" because I actually think they will be better than at least 5 or 6 teams this year despite losing a couple of key players.

A fully fit Oscar gives the team a great deal of balance & I loved seeing him get back and help defend too.

Not sure why people are waxing lyrical so much in here. Bobb is a fantastic player and had a good game but nothing extraordinary really, the pass for the assist was something that is expected for anyone to make in that situation, it was more Reijnders' finish that was great. Other than that he did reasonably well given Wolves' strong defending. Hope he continues to play like this, I agree that he is very reminiscent of young Bernardo Silva.

Hurting that Doku was shit?

I think it's more about his decision making.

He is nearly perfect, he always makes the right pass.

He always dribbles at the right time, and picks out a pass from his dribble more often than our other wingers.

He has this likely from his experience as a midfielder and his natural talent, but it really shines as a winger as well.

And his ability in pockets is so good.

And I'm sure this is only his floor, Bobb will be up there with Lamine Yamal as one of the top RWs this season, Yamal shows extremely similar traits.

I hope Oscar now gets a run of games ahead of Doku and Savinho. That will give him such confidence...the sky is the limit for this lad.
He is truly in the mix. Being selected for the first game, and being one of the stand-outs, makes him hard to depose, but there's a lot of talent in that front line.

When any player is out for such a long time with a serious injury there is always a question mark over them when they return. Oscar did more than enough for us to know he is just as good as he ever was.

Very pleased to see him thrive, such an intelligent player.

I think Bobb is real good at making the best use of the possession he has. I like Doku a lot but his final ball is erratic. If he can improve his decision making we will have one hell of a player.

Bobb is unusual in that he combines outstanding close control with the vision to pick out and play the perfectly weighted ball. I have always thought him as somewhere between Silva and Silva in that respect. He has David's pass execution and Bernardo's dribbling and work ethic. Of course, he has a long way to go, but at 22 he has vast potential.

Crediting him is no slight on anyone else. Nobody has Doku's explosiveness, for example, or Cherki's two-footedness.

His decision making is always good, I simply didn't see it stand out the other day since 99 percent of decisions were quite straightforward. I liked the timing and energy of his pressing though. Yamal is a different beast and I say this with a heavy heart. His explosiveness and shooting/passing/crossing accuracy is really something else.
