That was also my impression

There was a 20 minute spell in the second half when Arsenal just couldn't keep the ball and an equaliser looked inevitable.
However United seemed all pace and no composure, particularly when Amad came on and went all Dokuish. Everything was 100mph chaos and no end product

The biggest problem for United though is their goalkeeper's lack of physical presence in the one position where you can get away with a bit of nastiness, especially when defending set pieces.
Schmeichel would have taken the player with the ball and nobody would have said a thing.

I wonder sometimes the over the top giddyness of the crowd gets into the players. It makes them run around like headless chickens, all huff and puff and no end product. For all of the rags supposed effort yesterday, they created a speculative shot from distance that grazed the post and a header from Mbeuno that the keeper made a decent stop from.

Isn't it just great to read United fans posting that they're “excited” about their team and what they saw when they've just lost their opening fixture — and at their own gaff?
They have plummeted a long, long way, and can now feed off the scraps of meagre consolations and tell themselves that it's a feast. This is the “balanced” point of view, the diet of dry bread and no butter, which the rags and Ferguson would have rejected during their dictatorship years. That's just the truth. I hate Keane, but he's not wrong when he says that you don't console yourself with “performance” after a result like that.
Imagine the outrage, the frothing and gnashing on here if we'd lost our opening fixture, at home (and that would be over the top, too).
Some of the giddier ones are talking about top six. It's not beyond the realms of possibility, but I would be very, very surprised. What these clubs like Tottenham and United fail to take account of is that there's a lot of money swilling around the PL these days. More than there used to be. People like Newcastle, Villa, Brighton, Forest now see themselves as serious top six contenders. Possibly even sneaking into fourth spot. And they've got a point. And that's without taking account of the juggernauts that we, Liverpool, Arsenal, maybe Chelsea are. Three of those four will tie down three of the top four positions.

The ways that the BBC try to slant their reports in favour of the rags is astounding, whereas with Chelsea not so much.

I constantly notice it. It's not paranoia. It's the default narrative in the media. By the same token — I don't know how many times since June I've read that City had a “trophyless” season. It is of course true. But several times Liverpool have had a trophyless season over the last ten years, i.e. since approximately the coming of Van Dijk, Salah, Mané, Allison Becker. I don't recollect ever reading it in the media and press as a statement of, in effect, defeat.
Unflaggingly, the narrative is slanted towards the red cartel clubs. Whether it's conscious or not I couldn't say…

I think it's conscious. It couldn't have been going on for so long if it wasn't by design. When you go back to Pisscan days, a two-footed assault on a player would have Keyes and Gray giggling like schoolgirls: "Roy's back everybody. Roy's back!"

Arsenal were poor and United probably the better team. But they created nothing and still revert to bringing Maguire on and hitting it long to him. That’s league 2 tactics not a team that has just spent 200m on attacking talent.
And started with mount and Casimero.
Arsenals back four were, un-characteristically, all over the place. The ref may as well have had a red shirt on and the fuckers still couldn't score.

You were doing great until the last few words

They'll be a lot better up front with Mbembe and Cunha, good signings.

Still bang average in midfield with Mount and Casemiro and relying on Bruno bailing them out to often, defensively not much improved. Goalie looks dodge which is funny.

They'll be top 10.

United always have money to spend because of their size so they should always be giving their manager multiple years to create his own team.

I dont know how many players he's brought in already but it seems that Amorin still has to play players tgat he didnt sign. So he must be 30% or 50% or whatever towards what can be classed as his team.

Their fans and media should just let him to it. Expectations probably be based on performances rather than results and anywhere between a 6th and 10th finish.

They can't help themselves though and will tear down any real progress as usual I suspect.

It just looked to me that utd had had a better pre season than Arsenal, they looked abit fitter.
But I makes me laugh that their 'narrow' defeat was ok because Mbeumo and Cunha were outstanding.
Really?
And if so what will happen if any of them 2 get injured or suspended in Cunha's case, do the fans have to await their return to the team before they can have more outstanding 0-1 losses?

Rag fan on tslksport layed into his team and then the radios station went out there way to ridicule him to prop up one of the favourite teams because we can’t have any negative at beginning of there season for there team! Oh they love employing rags and sending them to games to get an unbiased reporting! Media in the country all the same defend there money train clubs till they get the nod from there club to change fact!

This and only this, it still riles to me this day that thundercunt ginger twat scholes got away with being a dirty little fecker because they span the narrative that he was a really good footballer who just didnt know how to tackle, utter bollocks that fucker knew exactly what he was doing and was just a hacker who could ping a good pass every now and again.

Let them carry on with the praise, this is why they're so shite. If you constantly tell someone how good they are, when, in fact, they're dog turd, they're never gonna change. The media are doing far more damage than good to them in my opinion.
