Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

I’d take with a pinch of salt as he trained at home recently while the squad were at matches/training.

I think this is Hugo Viana playing hardball with Levy. Spurs have a problem with Maddison’s injury so they need Savinho, we don’t want him playing the game next Saturday for either side, so my best guess is the deal is revived afterwards, they would still be 8 days of the transfer window left.

One thing is certain - if you are in the public eye, trying to maintain privacy is almost impossible in the age of social media. Even if there is no news, someone will create something, true or not.

What happened to Pep not getting in the way of players that want to leave?
I think there is a clear difference in being "open" to a move if the club accepts a bid and "want to leave". Its possible I've missed it, but I have seen no credible reports of Savinho telling Pep or the club he wants out?

Fabrizio saying on his live that someone on the city board is pushing for Savinho to stay.
With literally nothing to back it up, might it be Soriano, just to to prove that his pet CFG project is working and finally providing City first team players?
Because it has failed miserably in that regard, despite it being one of the key stated aims at its outset (albeit later rowed back on)
Been a good money spinner but in terms of player production, has been pretty woeful

If Spurs want him, Levy can stop fucking around and pay up. I'd bet that's what this is all about.

Sav is one of the few players where I am completely on the fence. There is a shitload of talent there, but the decision-making and shooting…oh my fucking word. £70m feels like a snap their fucking hand off moment and yet anything less seems like a give him another season. I haven’t a fucking clue when it comes to this one.

My thoughts exactly

The answer is pretty simple I think…any player can go, if the player brings an acceptable offer. You can’t be a £100M player and think the club will let you leave for £50m. I think that’s fair. Everyone knows where they stand.

Agreed. And the club probably feels similar. It seems like they have a valuation on him and if Spurs meet it, they'll let him go, if not they'll happily keep him.
