Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Palmer didn’t look good enough at City and we were all happy with £50m, can’t rewrite history.

He had a good game against Swindon and then in the super cup just before being sold, amongst many other opportunities where he didn’t really prove himself.
You are the one re-writing history. His talent was obvious. It was though difficult to see how he could play given the competition for places at the time. There were also rumours that he had an attitude problem. He for example had a very public bust-up on the pitch with Sergio Gomez in an U21 final.

Thanks. What are the chances of Akanji or Gundo in particular going though? Nil or close to nil in my opinion. Maybe the threat of non registration will prompt some movement but I can’t see anyone moving unless they are an attractive proposition to another team. We shall see.

I said on day one my expectations were that Akanji Gundo Grealish and a keeper would leave. I also thought Bernardo was a possibility. I still stand by that, although don't think bernie's going anywhere now. Gundo not looking likely either maybe, but I'm still sticking to it.

Still lots of time in the market.

You are clearly an optimist :-)

People need to remember that all these claims and narratives to fill a void while the clubs negotiate, are just that. Narratives, to fill a void. And to keep people clicking while nothing is happening, publicly.

To then go on rampages of imagination of which senior figure is potentially blocking a move, why, how it might make another professional feel, why, how they might resolve it etc. Or similarly where the player is at headspace-wise, what he is thinking, whether pep is pissed off and all that. Is just filling the void, but none of it is likely remotely true, imcluding probably the seculation claim that started it all.

It is all just void filler, because the appetite is there for daily if not hourly 'updates'.

True he was much better than the 2nd best winger of la Liga aged 19, while he had like 5 games at the same time . Some comments here are so funny
Whether you could see it or not the fact is Palmer IS the far better player...

His talent was no more obvious than Savinho’s is now and I’d sell him too

£60m for Savinho is an absolute no-brainer regardless of whoever wants to keep him at the club. In terms of ability, he's probably fourth in line for the right wing spot.

I doubt very much that City would discuss internal politics - particularly at Serrano level - with anyone outside the Board room. All this media bollocks is just media bollocks.

I’d agree but it does seem oddly specific. Never heard of anyone reporting anything similar about any other player who’s left

Soriano blocking it ties perfectly with what Pep said in the presser about the club always having the final say in when it comes to selling players. Particularly when it comes to the finances involved. Ferran will be holding out for money
