It's Quiet the £250m return

Disappointing we have helped out the side that's led by ten hag that has been in bed with the dippers all summer but whatever, as long as he actually plays. Still dont like this supposed conflict of him not wanting to go to Girona, you'd expect him to trust the hierarchy and not go against them, not a good sign. Let's hope he does well, loan was always on the cards and the better option.
Tbf though, he did similar to force his move to City, so we must have had an inkling that he was 'strong' of character.

Personally, I'd have preferred Echeverri to remain at City, & for us to put our back into moving on the players deemed surplus to requirements. Leaving them at home during the CWC would've been a good start.

Have you seen the stories that Galatasary have bid 27m for Diogo Costa. Weren’t we linked with him at £70m?! What has happened there or am I thinking of a different keeper?!

any interest in Ortega? quite odd nobody wants to pick him up. mid clubs in Bundesliga maybe, or even some lower PL clubs.

Probably because we didn't pay 70 mil so the value went down.

Need to see some outgoings soon if the window is going to balance the squad at least in terms of CL registrations. Not flapping quite yet though.

Don't think Gundo will leave - he probably has enough credit in the bank to not be disliked by the fanbase and club for sticking out another 12 monhs on a deal we willingly gave him a year ago.

He'd be stupid not to stick it out before still then having his choice of clubs next Summer. That is, of course, if he's willing to not be a starter.

Plus, we've not been linked with anybody in his position so not like he's blocking a potential signing by staying.

If he's happy with a bench/rotation in cup games role then his experience will be invaluable IMO. A player is much more than what they offer on the pitch, their personality and leadership of it can sometimes be worth a lot too. Ask Scott Carson.
That’s the crux though, will Gundo stick around for the season when he knows he’s unlikely to get many minutes? We gave Nico O’Reilly a new contract, and quite rightly he came on ahead of Gundo on Saturday, don’t believe for one minute that Gundo wouldn’t be questioning what he wants to do with this season. He's not got many years left, he might want to play more. In fact, I’ll bet he does want to play more.

I wasnt aware he did that but if he did then yeah fair enough.

I dont think echeverri's immediate future had anything whatsoever to do with successfully moving on other players. He's not behind any players we want to shift, he'd be competing for minutes with Bobb, cherki, foden, savinho, Reijnders, doku and marmoush, we aren't looking to shift any of them. We wete never going to be looking at getting rid of say a defender so that we can have an 8th option behind Haaland.

We are stacked in his position, he's bottom of the food chain right now, it makes sense he goes on loan, similar to Reis. His job now is to progress and reach a level that sees him overtake at least one of those names mentioned above next summer.

When we returned to pre-season training, many ITK's claimed Gundog, Kovacic & Nunes (amongst others from other positions) were told to find new clubs.

Everything went a bit quiet for a while, but last week reports started to surface again that Gundog & Kovacic have been asked to look for moves. Both have insisted they're staying.

If Nunes was added to the leave list, it would free up a midfield & right back spot, plus a non-HG squad place too. This would allow City to retain Echeverri & to move for Livramento OR Vanderson, who many on here rave about.

I've never seen Vanderson play outside of a few YouTube clips, so couldn’t really give an honest opinion on his quality, but he'd suddenly become a €40m option if the aforementioned players were to leave this window.

Vanderson & Lewis as our right back options for the season? It's a distinct possibility...

i personally think gundo and bernardo will share game time, having that experience head in the middle until rodri is fit and up to full speed, must admit i was surprised gundo didnt replace bernardo v wolves, maybe because we were well ahead at the time and thought nico O would benefit from game time in the middle.

I understand that, but you know where I was coming from all along, then clever twats start coming out with their FPL thinking caps on, and trying to state something that isn't as obvious as they are making it to be, it's ok saying well he's behind him and him etc in the pecking order, but these knobs are seeming to forget we signed this kid ages ago, not a month back.

Splinters 8-p

Agreed. But Pep can only do what he can do - I presume Gundo has been told now would be the time to leave but if he wants to stay, despite being told that, then it may as well be a positive thing rather than him lurking about.

Gundo doesn't want to go. Galatasary was after him, but he said he prefers to stay at City. We should have made it clear he should move on. Instead, we always seem to leave it at do what you feel like.
If anyone deserves that treatment in the team it’s him, he’s earned it.

Personally I think he goes because it will become apparent he isn’t going to get much time.
