As of now, it looks like it is.
I think if it is to be done it will have to be this week.
Not a chance do City sell Savinho and we are left with a week to negotiate a deal with Rodrygo, of which I don't even think we have spoke to Real Madrid yet, otherwise it would be all over the Madrid press.
That Rodrygo deal will not be as seamless as some think. They will want to have us over a barrel.
Some reports are saying the Savinho to Spuds deal is dead. Others that Spuds are preparing a third & final bid after their second €60m bid was rejected. Apparently City value Savinho at £70m.
Other reports state Savinho wants regular football in this WC season, & is interested in achieving that with Spuds.
However, City are reported as saying they won't consider any bids for Savinho unless our valuation is met, but more importantly, Savinho would have to tell the club he wants to leave, or put in a transfer request.
Apparently he's done neither, as he doesn't want to burn his City bridges. Transfer tactics will probably mean that even if the deal was still alive, it wouldn't happen until after we play Spuds on Saturday.
As for Rodrygo, some reports are saying personal terms with City 'won't be an issue' & he wants a move to City this window. However, an official move for Rodrygo will only proceed if Savinho moves to Spuds.
Today there are reports saying Rodrygo's in Alonso's plans for the season ahead, & that he hasn't actually asked to leave.
The truth with all the above probably lies somewhere in the middle...
