Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Haappy enough for him to stay, I think the lad could go up several gears. knows the league, knows the club, (should by now) knows how the manager wants him to perform, hopefully he can kick on his second season like so many have in a blue shirt.

On Palmer's account, Pep told him to either stay or leave permanently, Pep was against a loan. Haven't seen any info suggesting it was Soriano who wanted him gone.

Pep has definitely got done over here with hearsay.

He's quoted as saying the board, so maybe it wasn't Soriano but then who else, told him he either stays or gets sold, no loans which is what Palmer originally wanted for more game time. However, over the years this conversation seems to be have been misconstrued as Pep pulling the strings. He only coaches the side & as he's said on multiple occasions doesn't get involved with agents & transfers.

Doue has scored or assisted 1 in his last 10.

Palmer hasn't scored in open play since January.

That's young players for you, inconsistent.

Kinda supports the argument that Savinho is still one of the world's best young wingers.

Some players have exceptional purple patches. It's not set in stone that Palmer, specifically, will start scoring/assisting a goal per game again. Might do it or might not.

I reckon Savinho can't get worse than he was last season. That's his bottom level in terms of goals/assists.

Because he was mentioned as one of the possible ones to go in the post I was replying to and if rumours were true earlier on in the year galatasary were looking at him and he’s always said he would like to play in Turkey and his current value is next to nothing and there’s loads in the pecking order to play ahead of him. There’s no problem in him coming back when he’s finished playing as a coach. Only for injuries where he had to play last season he probably wouldn’t have even been given the extra year
No you didn’t you said throw in Gundogan for free, as if he’s some useless disposable piece of shit. Absolute disrespectful bollocks

I'd be inclined to agree and he still was only behind kev, haaland and phil for goal contributions.

If he stays I expect we go into next season with him on at least 15 G/A and at least joint-first choice RW

I mean the reasoning is already clear. It’s because he thinks savinho might turn into another Palmer and going for a replacement named Rodrigo who would want like 8x the salary of savinho while paying 90M is quite nonsense if you want to drop the average wage bracket in the squad.

There's other players out there not called Rodrygo if the Idea is to sell our second choice right winger to reinvest in a first choice left winger. Eze or the lad from Monaco might be cheaper options in terms of wages.

I was easy on keeping him a couple of weeks ago, I do think he has a lot of promise, but I sense he's had his head turned and I think we're just going to end up with a sulky fucker who we'll have to sell for less at the end of the season anyway.

I wouldn’t say he’s a piece of shit but he is disposable now time waits for no man we’ve let bigger and better players go that may have been able to do a job for us. There’s no sentiment in football

Don’t forget he already fucked us off cause we didn’t offer what he wanted

The exception with Gundo is that's a guy you want as a potential Pep successor down the line, I'd do a lot more to keep him in-house.

Even having him learn from Ljinders too is good for him and us.

Yeah I get that but does he want that he’s said he’d like to play in turkey does he want to hang around with very little game time and as the post I originally replied to we need to off load a non home grown player.

Tell him the doors always open to him a a coach when he packs in playing if he wants

You are a right brat aren’t you. He wanted a two year contract and we offered one so he went elsewhere, I can live with that. He NEVER once dissed us and was man enough to come back. Having mentalities like that around the club is fantastic, having ones like yours is pathetic and laughable by equal measure

Why? Gundo was excellent the final third of last season, he may get reduced minutes this season but is an excellent squad player, also a brilliant player to have in the dressing room, and a potential future City coach. Such complete and utter fucking disrespect.
I am a Gundophile and noted his upswing towards the end of last season as well - my concern is that it will take another period of re-bedding in for him to be a viable go to this season and who knows how long. IDK... I hope he picks up where he left off but realistically not sure.

He is just the kind of character we want around the club. I think the likes of Reijnders, Nico G, Nico O, Lewis, Bobb, Cherki will be getting a lot of the minutes Gundo got last season but I’d still love him to be part of the squad. And if we are one goal ahead looking to control the latter stages of the game I’d have no problem with Ilkay being on the pitch. One of our most underrated players in his main spell, that hasn’t changed

Do we still need to move an NHG if ortega and akanji go, will eche on loan? I've lost track!

For me he's still a guy I'd like to see come on in the biggest games, take control and see it out.

Feel like Rico, Nico O and Nico G will benefit a lot too from his mentoring.

No idea I’m not really clued up on how all that works to be honest but going by the post I replied to we do

Soriano blocking it ties perfectly with what Pep said in the presser about the club always having the final say in when it comes to selling players. Particularly when it comes to the finances involved. Ferran will be holding out for money

Purely speculation/wishful thinking but I love the idea of Soriano stringing Spurs and Levy down a cul-de-sac after their shambolic 'negotiating' for Kane in 2021.

Something tells me that this will go through, but not in time for weekend.
Soriano is right to hold out for a high fee, because the lad has potential, though I think Bobb is the better fit for us.
Not too bothered if we get Rodrygo, though he looks more convincing than Doku on the left.

Is this deal completely dead?

As of now, it looks like it is.

I think if it is to be done it will have to be this week.

Not a chance do City sell Savinho and we are left with a week to negotiate a deal with Rodrygo, of which I don't even think we have spoke to Real Madrid yet, otherwise it would be all over the Madrid press.

That Rodrygo deal will not be as seamless as some think. They will want to have us over a barrel.

My mentality. I’m being realistic by all accounts we need to get rid of a non homegrown player which one are you getting rid of realistically. When you take in who’s want them on their wages and fee
