You don't throw tens of millions away to meet a low offer to appease a player who is being a ****.Why are they keeping a player who doesnt want to play for them ? This would never happen at this club. If someone did that then Pep wouldve got rid of him the moment he embarrassed the club. Let Liverpool deal with the drama, he will have a meltdown in 2 years after Madrid comes for him.
I think it's actually pretty important for a club to say hey this is the price, if you want the guy, pay it. Newcastle are showing that they're the boss and if a club wants their players then they need to pay the cost they determine is fair. Given his success, years of contract remaining, age, etc. then I think the price they set seems very fair. If Liverpool really want him, they'll make it happen. Why are they keeping a player who doesnt want to play for them ? This would never happen at this club. It's not his fault.........sounds like a dipper already
"Promises were made"
Aye, lad. And contracts were signed
Knowing who his 'agent' is Isak is probably afraid of getting gutted like a carp in a back alley if he stands up to him. Not to mention his agent probably put him up to a good bit of it.He should sue his agent for not getting these promise recorded in some fashion.
"In the interests of the player, and the club we've agreed to sell Isak to Manchester City for the nominal fee of £1 and agree to pay 95% of his wages..."
PIF statement of Intent? To save face, they'd be better off throwing him in the reserves for a year or selling him to any club other than Liverpool.
Although I don’t support it, we should acknowledge it’s what players do.He's behaving appallingly and has been advised appallingly.
Genuinely if a player was doing this to come to City I wouldn't want them here. It's an abysmal lack of respect to a club that has spent a fortune and helped develop you.
If he was moving to any club other than Liverpool the reaction to him from the media would be far more severe.
Where does he want to go?So paraphrasing:
I'm pouting in my room refusing to man up to my contract. I'm dragging this out making it look like i am a victim.
Boo hoo, I was wronged. Waaaah I'm a professional footballer throwing toys out of the
pram.
I dare not put in a transfer request as it will negatively affect me financially.
I'm waiting for Newcastle to blink... well, blink second.
It also sets a negative precedent which other players and clubs are more likely to try to take advantage of.I think it's actually pretty important for a club to say hey this is the price, if you want the guy, pay it. Newcastle are showing that they're the boss and if a club wants their players then they need to pay the cost they determine is fair. Realistically, both Newcastle and Isak will benefit from him coming back into the team though so I suspect if he isn't moved before the transfer window shuts he'll be back after the international break and probably with a new contract.
To be honest. They are not willing to sell him unless they get players and everyone is rejecting them. Its not like they said hes for sale, Liverpool come and get him and Liverpool are low balling them. Joyce who is a basically a club mouthpiece said that Liverpool won't approach him until they get a green light from Newcastle. You don't throw tens of millions away to meet a low offer to appease a player who is being a ****.
Would like to think so but I reckon he’s klanfield boundHis agent has screwed him, I don't think they both realize Newcastle's position.
I suspect Liverpool are trying to get him on a low fee, and Newcastle want the fair high fee they are earned for him.
Isak has 3 years left, Newcastlews owners are so rich and will play the long game, they won't cave.
They'll just fine Isak his wages so they lose no money on his salary, and then he doesn't play for 3 years ruining his career while he is in his prime.
Newcastle has all the power, the owners are so rich they can and will make an example of him.
There's a difference.Although I don’t support it, we should acknowledge it’s what players do.
Van Dyck did it to Southampton to go there, and he went, so Liverpool won’t care.
Mind you, Nunes, Mahrez and, to some extent, so did Sterling all to get to City (Kane tried as well)…
I hope they do, serve him right.I reckon Newcastle could well give isak the tevez treatment.sit him on the bench for 6 months teach him a lesson.
PSR says helloHis agent has screwed him, I don't think they both realize Newcastle's position.
