He definitely knows what's happening, he's been reliable for us all summer.

To me it's clear - Savinho deal is still on, but we're holding out for a better offer. As soon as they offer us what we want, the 'blockage' will disappear and we will move for Rodrygo.
 
Correct from wrong but didn't another poster point out Romano is tight with Mendes - who is in turn tight with Viana - hence how Romano has been reliable in his info on us all summer?

I'd be quite happy swapping Rodrygo for either Doku or Savinho - thankfully in 11 days time this every day feed of rumours and will they/wont they will mercifully come to a close for a bit
 
Wouldn't be at all surprised if this advanced about half 2 on Saturday.
We would never let him go before we play them because everyone knows what would happen if he played against us at weekend.

I applaud you, or madam, for how you framed your argument. It is refreshing to see someone disagree without being disagreeable.

Unfortunately, some here think calling someone a "cock" or a "****", and etc, is the way to deal with someone with whom they have a different opinion or if they dislike what someone said.

Sell Savinho, take the money and reinforce in a position where we need strenghtening. Id we do keep him then it's a difficult path to get past Foden, Cherki, Bobb on the right although it was mentioned earlier that these 3 are better centrally. Even so I think they are also more effective right wingers and are hardly over the hill

I would have thought Eze but Spura have taken that optoin away.

Would it be crazy to get Paqueta given his lower price and ability to play centrally given that we seem to have plenty of wing options now (Bobb, Doku, Foden, Cherki, Marmoush, Lewis, Nunes, and probably a number of kids).

I'd rather have 21 year old Savinho than 27 year old Eze personally. Arguably Sav's Girona year is still ahead of any of Eze's seasons.

The crazy thing about that list of wingers is I suspect Doku is the only genuine winger in it.

Cherki and Foden should definitely be 10s (cherki really doesn't track back or even sprint which is fine at 10 as him floating about creating is an asset) and as much as I rate Marmoush I think the only genuinely lethal thing about him is moving off the left on to his right foot.

Paqueta I'd take, but really he's closer to a Gundo replacement than Sav.
 
I can't believe how much you love and defend Savinho aka Mr. 1 PL goal a season.
I know about his 2024 Girona season in La Liga but this is not 2024, we are not Girona and we're definitely not playing in La Liga.
Even Bobb is better than him. His 8 month injury last season was absolutely devastating for us.
Pep said Rodrygo is a 'dream player' who could effortlessly play in our system. He's the type of player that will push us over the line next season because he always shows up in big games.
