Their currency is fucked…exchange rate with GBP is now 10% of its value 5 years ago……they can’t afford to buy our players ..their entire club is valued at €300M…or about the same as the outlay the bin dippers have spent in this transfer window.
They definitely can afford to sign our players - they've just spent 75m euros on Osimhen.

This is my first post here, so hello everyone. I’d like to share a few observations on this subject, given that I’ve looked into it a bit.

Turkish clubs have often been able to offer wages higher than even what you’d see in the Premier League, mainly due to the government providing big tax advantages. However, this has never really been the case with transfer fees. In recent years, high inflation has distorted the exchange rate in Turkey. While that’s made the general population poorer, it’s also led to a few ultra-wealthy individuals investing heavily in football.

Even so, UEFA’s financial regulations mean Turkish clubs can’t just spend freely on fees. Gala, for example, paid €75m for Osimhen, but that was essentially their only major signing this summer. They appear to have reached their spending limit. From what I’ve followed, they’ve been trying to raise funds through player sales over the last week in order to create room for moves like Ederson. In my view, it’s unlikely they have the capacity to pay another transfer fee in the £20m+ range.

If Donnarumma’s arrival depends on Ederson leaving, then Gala are unlikely to raise their transfer bid for Ederson any further. Their current offer could simply stay on the table until the Premier League window shuts. If City turn it down, Gala would then shift their focus to Donnarumma, using the financial room to offer him a very high salary instead. In other words, they can still compete on wages, but they are not in a position to push transfer fees any higher.

Hopefully I’ve managed to outline the equation correctly.

I get what you say, but I can't see how they can just shift attention to Donnarumma, he would still demand a transfer fee, which would by all accounts be more than Ederson's due to his age.

Yeah Saudi last year and now this. He wants his money, let him get it.

Obviously we want a good fee but if reports of €25m are true I think that is a bit high.
Agree mate . He doesn’t want to be here and now we look like pricing him out of a move which not only fucks him but fucks us as we will have a unhappy keeper and will lose out on an elite keeper.

And the hundreds of millions from training ground sale ?

Yeah I get that we are trying to not be played just need to find the middle ground and think we will eventually.

Good thing about having Trafford/Ortega is the club probably feel like they can take their time as long as the deal then doesn’t go tits up because of it.

Gala want this done more than we need it done. But we obviously don’t want to miss out on Donna either

So they won’t increase their fee for Ederson
Instead they’ll pay a 2x bigger fee and even higher wages for Donnarumma, who wouldn’t go there anyway?
Right

Galatasaray sold their training ground and hence are cash-rich.

Seems there will be an update tomorrow from the same journo who is breaking the akanji interest. Sounds like the deal is in danger of collapsing

Translated :Tomorrow on Insider, I’ll explain why it’s dragging on and never seems to end. Who’s obstructing, who’s trying to sabotage, who was going to take a 50% commission from another player but couldn’t get a commission from Ederson, so they’re trying to derail the deal... Wait for tomorrow.

I get the feeling gala aren’t entirely serious re ederson. They seem much more motivated to sign akanji

You could just as well pose the question as to how serious City are in selling Ederson. I don't think we want to sell Ederson. I think the plan was for Ederson to oversee Trafford in his final season, but Ederson is pushing to go. The good news is that Donnarumma is apparently keen to join City but it would be expensive and it would mean much change. City appear hesitant and this deal has been pending for some time. It is difficult to tell if we will proceed.

And the hundreds of millions from training ground sale ?
From what’s being reported in Turkey, the club only got about €50m up front from that land sale, and that went straight to paying off debts with the banks. The rest is meant to finish off their new training facilities, so no sign at all that money’s going into transfers. Far as I know, Turkish clubs don’t have private owners, which means presidents can’t just spend whatever funds they like.

Like I said earlier, I think Eddie stays. Gala just can’t match the fee being asked. If Donnarumma doesn’t move elsewhere before the European window shuts, they might try to bring him in the same way they did with Osimhen – by offering a massive salary. Another option could be PSG giving him a +1 extension and loaning him to Gala.

You missed the most important development re Galatasaray: the sale of their training facilities. Yesterday they bid for Douglas Costa and are now in for Akanji.

PSG will require a fee for Donnarumma as he has a year on his contract.
