He can but it carries risk. There are also a lot of games to play, and with Ederson's heart seemingly no longer at City, I hope we sell him.

I'm of the opinion that if it aint broke, don't mess around with it. Ederson is a smashing keeper. Donnarumma is also excellent, but not PL proven and I don't think there are any better keepers with their feet than Ederson. So if you ship him out, you get a good shot stopper but not as good distribution. I would stick with Ederson and avoid the hassle.

Same applies to Rodrygo. He's 90m quid for a slight upgrade on Doku. And in an area that already has loads of options. Also strikes me as a bit of a sulking diva.

If Donnarumma wasn’t available then I’d be all for letting him go next Summer for the sake of £10m but when you have one of the best keepers in the world - who is only 26 - ready and waiting and wanting to join us, with your current number 1 ready to leave either now or in 12 months time, you need to make it happen.

Hope we get this done. Trafford would have had to have competed against someone anyway. There are enough games to go round. The other worry I had is easing Trafford in “the big games” ,one mistake and that could rob him of confidence and without a more senior or equal keeper he and we would be fucked.
