Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Mate its such poor logic to say "its not Girona" then go on about Rodrygo who's not even matched Savinho's best season in Spain. It's not Ligue 1 but I'm excited for Cherki and it's not Serie A and I'm absolutely buzzing to have Reijnders.

You like Bobb more, that's cool. At this point you can find an unhealthy amount of posts on here where I give genuine factual evidence to support why I think Sav is a top 5 U21 wingers in the world. I know he had a 2% conversion rate and I maintain that is a statistical anomaly (i happen to like the NHL where it's smart to target players who've been under their average on shot percentage as logically and statistically these things tend back to a norm).

It's not actually Bobb vs Savinho anyway - I want both and we need both.

I accept Rodrygo is a decent replacement. Anyone else (god forbid no replacement at all) I wouldnt bother.

People are shitting on Savinho, because they are fickle bastards. They have come up with some stupid fantasy that because he is linked with a move, he is ungrateful, wants out, and then gone on to come up with all sorts that he is not liked, that he is needy etc. Based on absolutely nothing at all. So now he is also a shit player too.

They don't actually 'like' or prefer Bobb as a player either btw. If it was Bobb linked with a move, they'd be shitting on him instead. As I say, fickle bastards.

It's doubtful Rodrygo is much better than Doku and Savinho. Jeremy "no product" Doku has had more goal involvements in the league per 90 than the super star Rodrygo. Go figure.

I think we are not convinced Rodrygo is so much better than Savinho, if at all, that he deserves to be paid 4-5 times what Savinho earns.

Personally I think Savinho has a really high ceiling. He needs to work on his shooting but there's so much about his game to like.

I personally think he's miles better than Doku and I can see Savinho in 2-3 being a top class winger. Ideal for me would have been Spurs in for Doku so we could have kept Savinho and signed Rodrygo to play on the left.

I love Rodrygo, but unless a wide player goes there's just no room for him.

We want £70m because we know his potential, I’ve said it before spurs give him the left side he will get 20/30 G&A I’ve no doubt! That kid from Southampton Everton offered £46m they refused they want more!

Rodrygo does it in the big games. That's why he's wanted, big moments he doesn't shy away from. Crucial to Madrid winning champions leagues.

So, he's similar or worse in the league than Doku re: goals/assists per 90 (2 years older than him and 4 years older than Savinho) but compensates for it in big games. I'm not sure that's enough to pay him 300k a week.

For the record, I'm not against signing Rodrygo. It's up to Pep and the club. But I can see why we may be cautious.
 
Bajowski has done a piece today saying City would sell anyone in squad who doesn’t want to be there providing valuation met and Savinho no exception. That no deal was going to get done before weekend in case Savinho shrugs off “mystery” injury and that whilst City are mindful of Cole Palmer that’s why their valuation and an “astronomical offer” would be needed.

Doesn’t sound like a brief as such since he’s the only one to go with it but clearly there hasn’t been a city brief to our own journos either? Very odd.

i seriously doubt City have been chopping and changing their minds. it will have always been the case, as it is with all players, bring an acceptable offer to the table and we'll consider it.

city probably have considered what moves they would make should savinho go, but i suspect thats as far as any of this has gone

How many goals and assists did 20 year old Mahrez get ?That would be 0 goals 1 assist in Ligue 2, his first decent season was with Leicester he was 25,same as Salah 25 at liverpool. He may not get the goals and assists of those 3, but saying never today is just daft.
He might be better or he might not, If the club value him at £70mill seems they think more might than not.

I do like Bobb and prefer Bobb, nor am I fickle. I just don’t rate Savinho as he can’t shoot for shit and rarely assists. He’s got zero end product and if he does have some, he’s never shown it in a City shirt. I’d rather Savinho go and we sign no one - at least that way Savinho isn’t stopping Bobb getting game time.

Literally our best assister last season what you talking about? At least if you don’t like savinho don’t make shit up. He had 1 season at the age of 20 and people expecting prime mahrez numbers. Very weird yet Bobb is compared to Yamal because of an assist that was more on reijnders than him.
