Manuel Akanji | Rumours of an Inter loan deal

I mean, we've clearly not agreed a deal with them without checking if he's interested in going first. We're not run by amateurs.

Can't imagine the club are too happy with him if they've wasted the last few days negotiating for nothing.

Bit embarrassing but that's only because everyone is so used to players being tapped up these days.
Bit embarrassing for who?

It's starting to feel like a free for all pile on, on our players at the moment. Every day it's a new player is attracting interest from clubs, left right and centre.

I wonder if it’s a proper old school transfer and they’ve agreed terms with the club before speaking to the player. Ah the good old days.

That's not how it's supposed to work or how it used to work.

The buying club will ask for permission from the club to speak to the player, then negotiate with the club.

If Akanji knows nothing then this is bollocks.

My impression is that Galata sources link the club with famous names every single transfer window and they rarely materialise.

Romano has given legs to the rumours but he may be bulshitting too.

He’ll never play.

Last 3 seasons, he's played 48, 48 and 40.
I still see a scenario where he plays 30+ games this season.
We have no recognised right back (2 that will play there though), 6 centre halfs (2 very injury prone) and 1 left back.

Only reason he'll end up going is the non-HG slot, so it's unfortunate for him.

I wasn't his biggest fan when he arrived (there are posts on here) but he's not as bad as was made out last season either.

Unless he’s just not got round to bargaining for his payoff yet?

Indeed, the 'we can't have 6 CBs' narrative is a bit simplistic if one takes into account that 2 of them are injury prone and we have only one proper FB in RAN (I like Nunes and Rico, but they are doing a job at RB, nothing more).

It can be true that there's negotiations happening and that the agreement hasn't been closed in on yet like Romano said. Wouldn't consider this one off the table just yet personally.
