Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

Thing with the flag shaggers is they are blaming this Labour Govt but the law that prevents people hanging flags without permission from public street lighting was introduced in 1980, Highways Act section 132. A time when Reformers were still Tories.
Does this law apply to all flag shaggers or just some of them?

Remember Mandy Clare? The Reform Councillor the TERF who assaulted a security guard at a Pride event in Windsford. Up in court yesterday but the silly mare went to the Magistrates Court in Crewe - the hearing was however at Chester Magistrates Court - but they are't thick remember

straight out the reform bollox playbook.

Doesn’t make it wrong.

It appears you and many others don’t have any issue with Palestinian flags being flown yet you seem to think you can dictate as to whether our own nations flags can be flown for some reason?

Any dissenting voice was easily silenced with the racist card but it seems as though that’s no longer going to work.

You think it’s government policy to allow Palestinian flags to be flown but not English ones ?

Clearly if certain councils have issues with flags being flown from lampposts then it's only fair that they all need to come down. If some are staying up then it's going to create friction. I don't live in Birmingham or Tower Hamlets so I can't possibly corroborate some of the reports that all Union Jacks/St.George Cross flags have been pulled down and all the Palestinian flags have stayed up. The Daily Mail have certainly implied that's the case but are they correct? Birmingham's a huge city so I doubt very much that the Daily Mail have driven down every single street in the city so it could be that some flags of all denoniminations have come down but the council have missed some. The Mail article I read about the Birmingham flags even acknowledged that the council said in a leaked e-mail that the Palestinian flags should come down. Another article about the Tower Hamlets flags quotes someone from the council there saying the same thing. The caveats to those statements were that there could be some pushback if they did take them down which kind of implies that it's more hassle than it's worth - if that was the case then it would be wrong to adopt a firmer stance on some flags than others - but both councils are on record as saying that the Palestinian flags should come down.

Thanks to social media people don't have the brain power or ability to check what is true or not, they scroll and see biased memes and take that as gospel, it's why a party like Reform have a chance - they can post this sort of antagonizing bollox and people lap it up - they're all quiet when hundreds are being arrested for holding up 'Palestine Action' placards though aren't they.

No, I’m saying it seems to be your policy.

One sight of a St George flag or the Union Flag has you spitting fire for some reason?

You’re not alone in seemingly hating the sight of them but frankly, the majority couldn’t give a fuck.

a flag is a flag is a flag regardless as to what it represents - flying flags from council lamp posts is typically prohibited by laws against things like fly posting and unauthorised advertising, which fall under the which fall under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the and the Highways Act 1980, as enforced by the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 2007. Attaching anything, including a flag or banner, to "highway furniture" like lamp posts without permission is a criminal offence, as it can pose safety risks, damage property, and clutter public spaces. Its like those tossers who cut down ULEZ cameras - all of it costs to the council to repair or pay out in damages and thus affects their council tax

Overnight in our town centre over 100 flags went up. When I phoned the council to say they had been put up illegally on public lamp posts they suggested I call the police!!!

I’d have told you to stop being a busy **** and get a life ;-)

Out of curiosity, had these been LGBTQ flags or Palestinian flags for example, would you have been equally as riled by the illegality and contacted the council?

If they had been put up illegally of course I would. Yes I am a bit OCD about the law having previously been a paralegal. If they were doing anything nothing wrong why put them up overnight rather than the middle of the day.
