I thought if they bought Eze then it would be all hands on deck, as he mostly played well against us, but now levy is still doing spursy
stuff like not paying a decent transfer, it could be a decent game for us,

With Gvardiol back in consideration, one from Khusanov, Ake and Akanji is likely to be out of the group.

If Rodri makes the group, then O'Reilly to miss out too?

It's understandable why Pep wants a smaller squad. Hard to leave top players or promising youngsters out.

Oh for a repeat of the 6-0 game when Jesus Navas scored and we were just parking up!

Their keeper, Lloris, had an absolute mare in that game. A higher quality game in my opinion was the 4-1 in 2017 in which Kev simply ripped them to pieces. At the end they resorted to kicking us, they had nothing else. That didn't stop us because we scored again. I walked out of the Etihad that evening knowing that a very special season was in the making.
Reindeers and Cherki to do the same or similar on Saturday?

This will be a better test. Enjoyed the game against Wolves but don't consider it a barometer. Spurs will be a better test.

They are a very good team and are always fantastic to start the season. They tend to lose steam with as the season plows on and injuries and form dips set in.

But early doors they are always good.

That was an absolute peach of a performance- the team did it for Merlin whose baby had been born very premature earlier that week. We owe them one, there is usually some controversy v them.

Last few results 3-2 them Feb 22, 4-2 us Feb 23, 3-3 Dec 23 and then that shambolic 0-4 loss last season. That cannot be allowed to happen again.

I expect the usual biased reffing/ VAR against us, them to foul at will, push, shove, no cards, no penalties awarded v then. One of ours goes anywhere near and its cards, off, penalties.

Pugmob don't want us getting too far ahead - game in 2019 when a perfectly good Gabby J winner was ruled out, to leave score at a Desmond, thus allowing Dips to get 2 points ahead early doors has eerily similar circumstances to this right down to the timing being in August and iirc ( but stand to be corrected) was our first home game of the season. So for that reason head telling me a contrived draw, but god I do so want our team to stick them. Detest that club.

You are correct. I’ve just watched the 6-0 highlights and their keeper was all over place! It could have been 7 or 8.

Pep has a wonderful chance to send out a message to some that they should start looking for a new club. The Akanji situation is quite ridiculous.

Yes, it will be interesting.

Akanji's situation isn't ridiculous. Apparently, the rumours about Galatasaray are twitter fantasies. If he is surplus to requirements, a sell or loan can hopefully be arranged, but he must like the league and the club, forcing him to go to a league or a club he doesn't fancy is out of question. Plus, I'm not sure yet that Pep wants to move him.

I have a good feeling about this. Think we'll beat them comfortably.
But if it's true that Pep wants to start Ederson that somehow feels like the bigger insult to Trafford after his promising debut than Donnaruma becoming our 1st choice keeper. Trafford should play until the window is closed. If Ederson is still here then, he can prove that he deserves to play ahead of Trafford this season.
