Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

...

On Reis why I believe he can play in the PL we recall him at any point.

He doesn't need to be registered as he's u21.
...
Nope mate, every single player in world football has to be registered to be eligible for competitive matches
- at only 1 club at a time. ;)

On Reis:
maybe he could be recalled at any time - BUT he can only be registered during an open transfer window before being eligible.

Reis would therefore not be recalled before January and then registered at our association to play for us.

Do you yourself believe that Spurs would have bid circa £70m for Savinho?

No, I suspect that Spurs have told Savinho's agents they'll do a deal which could be worth up to 70 million pounds to City. Guaranteed something around 55 and then the rest in add ons. Nobody's lying there. The agent can tell the journalist Spurs have bid 80 million euros.

City may well be saying we only pick up the phone to talk if the minimum we get is closer 70 than 55. Then we want add ons after that.

sounds very negative, and I don’t think we’ll sell him.
Although the £67m offer is tempting, it seems Soriano’s involvement has changed everything.
Maybe £75–80m is a price that would force us to accept, but that would hurt Levy even more than killing him.
I can’t see any possibility of him leaving after the match against Spurs.

Yeah, just for the record I wasn't suggesting anyone was lying.

Agree though.

Yeah people are saying it is a no-brainer to accept anyting over 60m for him, for the profit.

Aye, not if it costs you 100m plus over 10m a year more in wages to replace him.
But if that replacement brings you 10+ goals and 20 assists a season which Savinho hasn't done and doesn't look like achieving it's worth it.

Reis will need to be registered for CL.

He won't need to be registered so can play in PL if we bring him back at any time, even if we recall him before the February window (as far as I understand)

I should mention the same rules apply to the FA Cup and Carabao / League Cup as far as I understand.
No chance he'd get on List A but it just occurred to me to ask how it is different for Reis as opposed to all our other U21 loan transfers (who I understand can only be recalled to register to play the PL in the next transfer window)?
All players including U21s seem to be assigned a PL squad number as part of registration according to their rules.
