A big test for Nico. Tottenham are athletic and strong in the middle. Palhinha, Bentancur, and Sarr will probably play. They will hunt for the ball and look for quick counterattacks through Kudus. Even Rodri didn't have it easy. Fortunately, the days of Kane and Son in their prime are over.

At City, I hope the front three will be Haaland, Marmoush, and Bobb. Doku will come on in the second half for the tired Porro and finish the job.

But he still gave Gundo starts and substitute minutes denying several young players eager to play who should have played in several games. I'd have liked to have seen more of McAtee O'reilly and (especially) Echeverri.
He most probably thought that it wasn't the right time for youngsters. Anyway my post was bout why Gudogan got more time, not why others weren't playing.

Got my ticket, flying in for this one, can’t wait to see the new lads in action.

Last live game was Arsenal last year, and Stones is back!!!

Should be tasty
same mate im flying in from the netherlands!!! time to let the south stand rock again! we had it rocking against bournemouth last season as well which was my 2nd game irl

Can't wait for tomorrow, despite the annoying early kick-off. Feels like an eternity since we were last at The Etihad. I always love the first home game of the season, the sun shining, seeing familiar faces again, full of optimism for the season ahead. Until Spurs score on the counter with their first shot on goal.

Would love to see us really go for it, with Marmoush, Cherki and Bobb all playing behind Haaland, with Gonzalez and Rjeinders in midfield. Can't see Bernardo being left out though, understandably.

My worry is Frank. He is a very smart manager and will have a good game plan which attacks our weaknesses and minimises our strengths. Spurs, despite their difficulties, will be unrelenting in going forward.
A tough game in prospect, good premier league fare, with a real battle in midfield.
City 3-2.

I hope Pep doesn't feel obliged to play Bernardo because he made him captain. If his form drops he needs to be benched like everyone else.

We have a very strong squad with plenty of competition for starting places. No player should start unless they deserve it, even Pep's favourites, and Bernardo is.

I'd like a repeat of the 3-0 swatting City gave them at home during Covid; that long ball from Ederson to Gundogan who sat Sanchez (?) down on his arse and then on his face before knocking it into the net, now that was special.

Scarlet Shamoon gets the second question and is yet again excruciatingly appalling - what a disgrace that our national broadcaster fields this inept rag stooge as their correspondent for the best team in the world.

I dont think theres any choice to make in terms of the GK situation. Trafford played well last week and wants to be here - Ederson's mind is already halfway out of the door.

For tomorrow Id go with - Peps team will be nothing like this.

Trafford

Lewis
Dias
Stones
Ait-Nouri

Gonzalez
Reijnders

Cherki
Foden
Marmoush

Haaland

4-2-3-1

Rodri, Bernardo, Doku, Bobb all primed on the bench and ready when called upon.
