Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

There’s no need for us to sell him, especially to a rival, maybe if they bid £85m pounds I don’t think City would turn that down, but the ball is firmly in our court, so it will take an exceptional offer to get him.
All clubs need to sell players in order to be able to buy. The psr era makes that essential and nobody can afford not to sell. I think Savinho is decent and has great potential but the money at 70m is too good to turn down. Next summer we will need an elite right back maybe Livramento and should be in the market for top young players like Wharton to address our HG issues. These won’t come cheap so selling a squad player in an area we are well resourced makes sense in my view.

If it were the other way round how much do you think they’d be quoting us, certainly alot more than £70m, just don’t think this figure will interest City.

Paulinho was a very good player. Fernandinho was 28yrs old coming from the Ukrainian league, hardly a crazy statement at the time.
I agree.
I didn’t expect much of a player who cost £30m (£5m of his own money as city refused to pay more than £25m if I remember correctly)
and came from Shakhtar.
I believe at the time he did have most dribbles in games during the last CL campaign. So I was expecting g him to be a very different type of player.

Needless to say I was very happy with the player we got.

People are paying for the potential of a guy who was only behind yamal and guler in the last ballon d'or young player vote.

Ekitike cost 79m and his 22 G/A at 22 years old in the Bundesliga is probably comparable to Sav's 19 G/A in la liga at 19 years old.

Elanga, Madueke, Kudus are 50m+, Cunha gets 21 G/A as a 26 year old and costs 63m.

Less than 70m for Savinho, who's just turned 21, is close to below market value.
It’s crazy isn’t it .

Rodrygo is available for £69m now it seems! Sell Savinho for £70m and sign Rodrygo for £69m?!
I think we're playing a game of poker, we'd quite happily swap Rodrygo for Savinho, but are coming from a position of strength. Waiting to drive up the Savinho price and lower the Rodrygo one.

Its a good position to be in, worst case we just keep him.
Why don't Spurs just go for Rodrygo?
He won't be wanting to go there, because it's Spurs.

He’s not worth 70mil even if he had 70mil in his pocket!!

It will go one way or the other. Well either regret selling* or regret not taking the money

I say regret selling but by the time Savio gets close to making us regret it, we’ll probably have forgotten he ever played for us. It’s years away and we’d have moved on my then
In a market where Jacob Ramsey is 43 million, they want 150 million for isaak and united throw 80 million at anything,he really is

I think Savinho has a higher ceiling than Rodrygo, plus he's 3 years younger. Aside from goals scored, Savinho's already out performing him in head to head data, & that's not considering he's in his first year, in a new country, in a far tougher league, when City had a mid-season collapse.

This is why I think City are in no rush to sell, & why Soriano's 'pulled a Levy' by spelling out our valuation & refusing to budge. If Savinho remains, gets his head straight & progresses as we suspect he will, City win. If we get €80m for him, we win in the short-term if we can get Rodrygo in for the same price.

I'm surprised by Savinho wanting to leave. Evidently, this is because he fears not being included in Brazil's WC squad which shows playing for his national team is his priority. If he wants to leave for that reason, then the same as Bernardo applies. Our valuation must be met.

Savinho being 'injured' is bollox. I suspect Spuds not meeting our valuation & City not wanting the prospect of facing him in today's match is why he's still here. With Ezé falling through for Spuds, I think we'll see movement on Savinho after today's game.

As for Rodrygo, I'm meh about him. Aside from the critical goals he scored against us when facing Zinchenko in that painful CL semi final, he's not a player whose particularly stood out to me as something special.

Would there be all this hype surrounding Rodrygo at €100m if he played for Ajax, Milan or Benfica? Somehow, I doubt it. However, the club are correct. If Savinho wants to leave & our valuation is met, we should sell & replace him. I just wish it was with Désiré Doué or Lamine Yamal coming in instead. Then we'd be talking!

Imagine this gets ironed out the next few days. It's funny it appears that we are doing what Spurs did to us and being completely non responsive, im sure it will be discussed with the powers at be at the game.
