Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Come on it's only fucking Spurs
We all hate losing and kick the toys out of our prams
But next week they will lose and City will come back with a bang

Its City

In Glory or in the shit we have a wobble nothing ever changes

No coincidence we collapsed as soon as Ait Nouri left that side of the field. Frank knew exactly how to exploit the full backs and Rico isn’t anywhere near the level to play a top 8 team. Worst right back we’ve had in a long time.

Nico, cherki and reijnders was horrible call. Too much inexperience all together and when they lost air Nouri pushing up they didn’t have the speed of thought to deal with spurs intensity.

Haaland played well until he got nothing.

Subs awful too. Doku has nowhere to hide any more. Produce or bench.

I don’t blame Trafford but I think today will stop the fans nonsense of thinking “one of our own” is enough to justify not buying quality players in. You earn it.
Top 8 is being kind, he wouldn't start for any other premier league side... he starts here though and is on the verge of a 5 year deal. He's at best limited on the ball and absolutely tragic defensively.

He makes Nunes look like Cafu.

Optimism gone up in smoke

All this talk of us playing a quicker more in your face game is bollocks, Tottenham out muscled us all over the pitch, I said it last season, whoever are strength and conditioning coaches are they want fucking off.
Its easy to point to this and you are right but the real problems are much bigger...defenders who cant defend, a midfield who were AWOL and little creativity

Funny what
Worried City are becoming like Arsenal under Wenger in the latter years of his reign. It all looks rather similar.
yep.
Pep has not only been caught up, hes been over taken.

Football is like that, you cant stand still. We have for 2 seasons and this season looks no different.

Of course, we arent allowed to question him though. Get called names :/

Of all the things that marked Pep's football, on evidence of today's game, the man in the dugout is the only thing that is still out there. The rest has been gradually chucked out of the windows in the past I would say three seasons, until nothing has been left.

And what happened with our energy, effort, wanting to compete and we are still in August?!?!?!?!

First our game without the ball was brought down to complete inefficiency, then we have managed to keep schlepping the ball with creating ever fewer chances, and now we are mediocre even with keeping the ball.

Some will say it is early in the season, I would say the ship has already sailed.

Thought Gonzalez was one of the big issues today.

It wasn’t that he was bad on the ball, it was that he was rarely available to receive the ball and failed to provide a link between the midfield and attack/defence.

There were so many occasions when the defenders had the ball where he was totally invisible and didn’t even make an effort to show for it.

At the bare minimum you’ve got to be visible and trying to dictate the play. I can forgive having a bad day through things not coming off but not being a shadow. The fastest he moved all day was when he got subbed off.

Obviously he wasn’t alone today though so I’ll leave it at that.
Agreed. It looked like England trying to play out from the back with Rice in midfield at times. The game seems to happen around Gonzalez at times - there was an occasion second half where he didn't even contest a free ball 5 yards away

He on track
We all love the man but fuck me it painful.

So many reasons why the team is so poor.

I genuinely dont know if he can fix it.

If the level of player is not good enough for pep’s system then what do we do?

Need to be buying world class players to play a certain way.

He must be fuming and embarrassed about what he is watching. It’s not his level at all.

What is going on in training? The blue winning machine days are over.

That not being able to pass out from the back is alarming. We used to be bulletproof and could get out of any press.

The lack of direction and play when atttacking is equally just as bad. What happened to the triangles and passing teams off the park?

It’s over, we just don’t want to admit it. Bit like Kev’s legs last season.

Hard to see it come to an end but football is unforgiving.

Look no further than the rags living in GPC wonderland.

He's on track to leave at the end of the season.

Thinking about the cause, maybe the lack of preseason preparations and games caught up with us big time today, especially compared to the Spuds, whose players looked fitter, stronger, and won every ball easily throughout the game.
