1 | James Trafford - 2025/26

You shouldn't be making that pass at all, but that's what Pep wanrs us to do
Stop talking shit. Pep doesn’t tell traffford to make that particular pass. The team set up in a shape. Usually both cbs split either side of Trafford and the midfield come deep. It’s then up to the keeper to choose the best option depending on how the opposition are pressing.

Trafford simply choose the wrong pass, played it incredibly poorly (to the wrong side) and the player was disposed as a result.

Trafford went long on many occasion today as did ederson when he played. It’s situational. Pep doesn’t instruct someone to play short at all costs. Clueless if you think that.

Most of the times Trafford did go long the ball was then won back by spurs. This is why pep would like us to go short where possible. The players have to be make the right decisions in the right spaces and make the movements to create the passing angles. This is coached daily and for long long periods.

Do you honestly think pep goes “just play it short no matter what mate”.

I've no idea why Nico came into the 18 yard box to ask for that ball, has high risk written all over it

Having said that, it should have left a gaping hole in midfield for the ball to be chipped into, ideally to Haaland or Marmoush

Just another item on the the list of a very disjointed team at the moment

I’ve absolutely no idea why we have signed him to be honest.
Because we had a keeper who refuses to save shots at his goal mate, that for the last two summers has been open to moving and a new number one was needed. Newcastle wanting him probably panicked us into taking a punt knowing we needed a new number one regardless

He showed his charatcter by criticising Accrington Stanley after they had given him every chance but he wasn't up to League One.

He was also dropped for Muric last time in the PL.

Fantastic.

Well he needs to become number 2 very quickly. If we don’t sign a keeper we are in big trouble.

Good shot stopper. Abysmal with his feet. And he’s better than donarumma so don’t see what donarumma adds

He moved into the box to take the spurs player with him and create a gap so Trafford could pass it to cherki

Ederson's shot to save ratio is the same as Donnarumma's.

And I’m sure Traffords is better than both
But what I'm saying is that Ederson has a better shot-to-save ratio than you think and has all of the technical ability Donnarumma lacks and the box commanding prowess Trafford lacks. This idea that Ederson saves nothing is a complete myth.

It’s not, I have eyes. Many keepers down the years I can quote several games where they have had worldies. Man of the match performances. Saving shots they have no right to. I can’t think of one game like that for Ederson having a world class man of the match performance. He’s been the best ever with the ball at his feet but only steady between the sticks. He was found out last year in a struggling side. Playing for a team with 70 plus percent possession and winning most weeks was a lot easier than present day

Your eyes are deceiving you. Ederson's shot save ratio last season was between 65-66%. Donnarumma's was between 67-68%. You can literally look this stuff up.

So what's next?
