Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Maybe that's a good lesson for him to learn today.. Dias and Stones were too slow in the buildup and Spurs, yes Spurs were causing all sorts of problems.

Viana obviously thinks we need to get younger.. which is why he got Khusanov, Reis and Bah but Pep wants to go with "what we have". It's basically PSG where they thought they could rely on old greats.

Just a matter of time till Pep realizes the old guard is the problem. But how long will give them is anyone's guess.

Pep's loyalty to them must change quickly and be ruthless
We all love Stones Ake Akanji Dias, but I would not be starting 3 of the 4, Khusanov needs to start the next game

No team pressed better us in the era of Pep Guardiola than Tottenham today.

Or maybe , Liverpool done it better ( 2018 - 2022) period of time, but probably back than we got waaay better players and didnt suffer that much against kind of team

First 20 minutes looked good going forward. Marmoush went close and later had another chance. Went downhill after that.

Once the goal went in Spurs got momentum. We had no answer to so many players behind the ball. Letting the ball bounce caught us out on several occasions.

The second half performance had similarities to last season.

I agree, I've seen countless times players warming up on the touchline (whilst City are losing), laughing with each other - Foden today for example - and going through the motions with some exercises. Camera pans to bench and often see squad players joking around having 'bantz'. Gets my goat to see that, I'd be pissed off at losing and it gives off the wrong signals to everyone, opposition included. You often hear 'he likes to play with a smile on his face', fine if you're winning but when the chips are down it's not ok.
Well he was all depressed last season and was shit, so I’m not sure telling him he can’t smile is going to help matters.

Came on and improved us which is all that matters. Should have been on earlier.

Traffords kicking is awful. Could be any keeper just hoofing it up.
Yep, he looked very ordinary today ..... he has to learn to use his head, and if he sees city players in or near our area who are tightly marked, he needs to hoof the ball upfield, or he's gonna cost us goals.

He's just making both himself and the player he's attempting to pass to look incompetent ...

Mind you it wouldn't surprise me if he's not in the side for the trip to Brighton.

This is the Question
Was this a Good Spurs side or just another BIG GAME for them against us, the annual (Spurs Cup Final)
Sometimes, one game of football can speak volumes about where you are as a group of players who are going to be a strong team in the new season, but with the City vs Spurs fixture, all bets are off about were both teams will finish

Spurs beat us 4.0 last season and finished and just above the relegation zone ? that is Spurs

This angle is damning. How he’s passing to Nico’s right foot there is baffling me. Sarr is right there ready to pounce!

Cherki was the pass.

Why didn't Ruben hoof it upfield?

It's his mistake.. should be a leader there and take responsibility because the team were under the cosh and already 0-1 down. Then he does this..

All that experience and fucking mental he'd put Trafford in a position like that.

We have a troglodyte manager who still thinks it is 2008 and doesn't have to change.

We had a far better team than Spurs but Frank is more progressive and JG has managed City's decline for the past 2 years without any intention of making changes.

He is like the 442 big man small man manager, and clear his time has past.

What the fuck have you been drinking?

Should an injury to our left back change a game so quickly ? once Ake came on Spurs went straight down the left and trouble was about to happen, Pep squad is far too top heavy with centre backs and one full-backs

That's a pretty fair point and one I hadn't considered..
