7 | Omar Marmoush - 2025/26

Decent player with loads of attributes. Will make a career in the prem or La liga and may win a pot or two. Will he be a top end player who makes the difference in title winning or champions league winning sides? No chance. Another squad player.

He has fetish for power shot, he had very good chance and he choice to shot with power, that desicion was very bad, most players would try to chip the ball.

He had a brilliant game against Newcastle but outside of that my overall feeling is he’s probably not a Premier League-winning level player.

He’s good enough to be in a title winning squad, but I have to say after 30 odd games I’m pretty underwhelmed given his age and the fee and the hype pre-signing.

It doesn’t feel like we’ll be in this thread in 9 months time talking about how he played a huge part in winning the league.

Did you see how bad we were yesterday? Top 4 is gonna be a real battle never mind winning the league.

Has a lot of good attributes. Works hard, has good movement, reasonable pace, gets into goal scoring positions and makes decent runs. Needs to work on his touch and passing though.

Probably between him and Savinho for our best option on the left. I'd have both ahead of Doku.

The issue with Marmoush is that he’s not a good enough dribbler to play on the wing.

He doesn’t have good enough vision/final pass to play as a 10.

He lacks the physicality to pin defenses back and play as a #9.

So you’re left with a weird/SS profile. Pretty much the worst profile in football. If he isn’t playing in a front two, his influence cuts in half.

I’m not going to write him off though. He’s fast, and he has some of the best shooting in the PL (although it may be limited to specific shooting angles).

I think Pep probably views him as a David Villa. However he doesn’t have Messi dropping deep and finding him behind defenses.

Theoretically, Cherki playing those passes with Marmoush making out-in runs should work. Ait Nouri can then hold width. We didn’t see that though.

Pep wants Reijnders higher up the pitch which means Ait Nouri needs to invert. So whoever plays LW needs chalk on their boots.

I just don’t think that’s Marmoush’s game. He has the confidence and he’s quite relentless at attacking his fullback. The only issue is that he isn’t a good enough dribbler to be attacking his fullback that way. Also, his first touch is shocking. He’s not a true technician at all.

So yeah, I think he’s best off playing in a front two, but if that isn’t possible he’ll have to do winger shifts. It might be worth playing him RW. It’s a simpler role and it won’t require as much technical skill. So Pep might just need to turn him into the Egyptian Pedro rather than Salah 2.0.

Counter attacking footballer. As is Erling really. They'd be a lethal duo in the right system. But it's a system we'll never see under Pep. I don't know what's going on with our recruitment.

We had worse games against spurs in the treble winning season.

It’s August, we’ve got players on their way back from injury (Haaland/Foden), a new keeper which will take the back 4 ten games to settle with, and new players still adapting.

Despite all that we had the vast majority of chances in the first half and if we’d put them away we’d have been a few goals up and not chasing the game leading to mistakes.

Arsenal looked shit last weekend against a poor United. They’ll still be title challengers and so will we.

There's a reason why Kane is doing well in the Bundesliga and why Marmoush is struggling in the Prem.

Yes, because Kane famously struggled in the Premier League...

Also everyone knows there's a difference between doing very well at a German club like Frankfurt or Wolfsburg, and going to Bayern, a club with 4x the budget of their closest rivals.

He was an elite player in Germany though. He's not really settled in here yet and adapted to how we play but he's still a good player. His mental fortitude isn't quite there yet so time will tell whether he can become an elite player for us. He will if he wants it enough.
Didn't he have just one good season in Germany? That could easily have been a purple-patch.

Nah, Spurs have beaten us many times but most of their wins have been dodgy wins. Yesterday was probably the first time they actually outplayed us. We played better in last season's 4-0 loss than we did yesterday.

Got to love the DOF on here striker after striker this transfer window have gone for more n more money and the DOF on here before season started were asking if their worth that we'd be paying 120 million plus for Marmoush 2 games later panic buy not worth money duff the list goes on
