It's Quiet the £250m return

Unless Brighton are interested in a couple of our players, I can’t see how we’d manage to sign Baleba this window.

Serious question, have you ever watched donnaruma? I mean its one thing to argue his shot stopping, aura, 1 v 1 ability makes up for his faults with his feet. But to argue that he is not that bad(and in a way say he is good with his feet) is an odd observation because its simply not true.
serious question, have you watched him for the last two years, every minute ? those stats on the video has, passing 98%, now i agree stats dont tell you everything, however 98% is pretty high, even his long passes are only just behind edi , maybe he does fuckup passing from time to time and these are the games you've seen, name me a GK who doesnt, but every match for the last 2 years i would say he looks more than capable with the ball at his feet, pep/scouting seems interested, you are dressing up your opinion as fact, when the stats and more importantly the powers that be at the club seem to have a different opinion.

Ive not seen enough of him to give a yes or no, however im siding on yes after listening to a few opinions on bluemoon v stats and an interest from city(supposedly)

It's realism.

You don't have to lie to yourself about Donnarumma's footwork or about how timid he is at claiming crosses. Nor do you have to belittle other people on here for worrying about those flaws.

It'a not incessant negativity to analyse players for what they are and how they might fit into what we've built. Analysis is critical thinking.
it isn't realism its your opinion, we can all get things wrong, and yes im including pep in that, ive already replied to one poster who is claiming donnarumma is shit with his feet,

I've never studied every aspect of Donnarumma's game. Have you before he was linked?

Like most opponents we face, I judge them on their general performance & if given the choice of an Ederson replacement, Gianluigi would've been my first pick. He's a brilliant keeper.

I haven't paid particular attention to his footwork. However, if was as shit as many fans on Bluemoon are making out, I'm sure it would've stood out. It hasn't/didn't.

Can you highlight specific instances where Donnarumma's footwork was shit & would be a particular concern if he rocked up at the Etihad?

Savinho pushing for the move.

Donnarumma agreement between clubs is very close. Expect news very soon.

Ederson to be given the green light.

Gundo and Akanji seeking new clubs, talks still on going. But both will move by the end of the window due to the club making it clear.

City are still looking at RB, and if a move is made Nunes will be allowed to leave. Nunes has options and it won’t be hard to move him on.

Baleba is still on the clubs radar. A city representative was at Everton watching him.
Anything on ortega?

This Ederson and Donnarumma debate needs a little context imho -

We are coming out of one of the greatest era of success in English football hence a whole lot of us are trying to adjust to the new reality of results and the players.

According to me we had a few players in this era which can not be reproduced or replaced ever and Ederson is one of them:

Ederson - the greatest ball playing goalkeeper in the league history. Arguably invested a new position for keepers. Neuer kind of legacy in the game. Can’t be replaced

Yaya Toure - Fast technical who can brush off multiple defenders and score a goal from nowhere.

David Silva - Greatest Spaniard to play the English game and god level ball retention and eye for a pass. Can’t replace him

KDB - need not say more

Aguero/Walker - They won’t make them like that anymore . Very difficult to replace.

So obviously expecting the new signings to have the same level of output is a folly.
Hence it becomes quite imperative that Pep understands he won’t have those players or the team anymore and changes our game plan according to that.
Something we haven’t seen so far!

Spot on.

If people are so worried about his quality in possession, they may rewatch his passes vs Liverpool and Arsenal. Thought he was quite good on the ball at Anfield...

Good points, but we won the Treble and 4 in a row after Yaya, David and Sergio. We managed to replace them pretty well.

Can we replace Kevin, Gundo and Bernie with similar quality? Won't be easy at all, only time can tell. Some of the younger players are outstanding talents. They may need time, though.

Nice one D :) that’s a lot to sort out in a week!

Replacement for Savinho being sought?

Ortega?

Can't get my head around why Savinho wants to leave. Can't see it being a minutes issue. Can only be based on financials and City (probably rightly) not wanting to increase his contract.
