Giovanni Leoni. They've paid 26 Mill for an 18 year old CB from Parma.

If they get Isak and Guehi they'll have had an exceptional window.

They’ve had a-good window, not great ,yet anyway. Kerkez doesn’t look better than Ait Nouri and has already looked shaky, Frimpong not sure he’s much better than Nunes, Wirtz v Cherki, juries out so far Cherki’s edging it, Ekitike looks decent but better than Dias and Jota wouldn’t think so.
Are they better than last year, don’t think so though another couple of signings they might be.

Agree that if they get Guehi it's an excellent window for them.
Signing an Italian 18 year old is not a guaranteed success though ?
Isak going there would be scary, although who will be their #1 Striker ?
There could be disharmony, as there sometimes with Mane & Salah...

I think they are better than last year. I think with Isak they will be better still.

If we are better than last year, which we should be, they will still have a fight on their hands imo.

Arsenal have improved too, and will be in it as well.

I never go into a season assuming it is ours to win. This year though I feel less confident than I have in a while. In some ways, I welcome just watching the sesson unfold without heightened expectations.
 
We had a decent window as well, but due to the disastrous January transfer window, we have added no value. I don't know why our club is obsessed with signing so many centre-backs. The money could have been spent on a decent winger or RB rather than signing 3 CBs who are not in Pep's plans

Disastrous?

Without it we aren't in the CL.

We signed Khus and Reis because otherwise other clubs would have and we need to think beyond the sick notes and expiring contracts of Ake, Stones and Akanji.

Wasn't disastrous at all we've won the most points in the league since.

Isak is off mate. No chance he is staying with Woltemade coming in.

Well, they might not be better than last year yet. As that will take time and chemistry development. But they've upgraded certainly.

.Wirtz is better than Diaz, Ekitike is better than Nunes, Frimpong and TAA are a wash. Keekez is beyter than their left back last year. Leoni is about similar to the kid they let go to Germany. Rio is an ascending youth talent. If they are Isak, they'd have replaced every player they lost with an equal or upgrade.

I wouldn’t say we have had a decent window.

We’ve got a bloated squad and only a couple of days to get players moved on.
I agree though, would have been nice to get a decent winger and a right back.

The only real improvement for me is Ekitike, he’s a proper striker and goalscorer which they’ve not previously had in Nunez.

Frimpong isn’t an upgrade on Trent, just as much of a liability defensively.

Wirtz is an improvement too, a great addition to any team.
