CL League Phase Draw 2025/26 | Fixtures (pg 32)

That draw was tougher than I expected given that we were a top seed. However, there are some very exciting ties.

We should qualify. Last season our season was destroyed by injury and the decline in form of ageing key players. It is an open question as to whether they have been replaced. I would say not. I hold out more hope for our academy players (Bobb and O'Reilly) than I do our signings. For City to be successful, Pep is going to have to give players like O'Reilly opportunities. O'Reilly might continue to develop in attacking areas of the pitch.

No you have the 14th easiest. Bayern have the hardest. Here's the other side of that data showing the 16 hardest draws.

Arsenal's draw looks piss easy.

According to UEFA rankings City have the 4th hardest group and the Scousers (Bus Wreckers) have the 5th. I am expecting exactly the same as last year and we will not finish in the top 8.

The club coefficient is the average over the past 5 years. It is a guide to how well they will perform this season, but some clubs are on the slide - and you could argue that we are one of them. It also doesn't account for the teams that play much better either home or away.
What the list does very well is fill up the 48 hours that we have to wait until the fixture dates get released.

Bloody hell mate I was just stating facts and have seen nothing to say we will be better in this competition than last year.
Can you name 16 stronger clubs in the competition. I would put us around 6th or 7th but Inter got to the final last season and we are on their level. We can win it if we are in a good moment at the crucial stages.

Since everyone plays 2 random teams from each pot seeding is irrelevant, there is zero benefit from being in pot 1.

Don't agree with Viana at all with him seeing its a positive to have kdb back at the Etihad, its the worst scenario in my book. I was content with him going to Napoli because he'd largely be out of sight and we likely wouldnt have to see him face up against us, the exact reasons why I didnt want to see him remain in the premier league and now were going to have to see him in Napoli shirt against us. Horrible scenario, same way I never wanted David Silva or kompany or fernandinho or gundo before he came back to end up against us Viana way off in my book.
It’s like seeing your ex with a new fella ;)

I think it looks easier than last year

I see what you mean although from the perspective for a top seed like City, the draw should look easier than for a side like Newcastle. It doesn't in my opinion. The games are more challenging than they were in the group stages.

It can't look easier for a top seed as everybody plays two from each pot.
The reason we are seeing harder draws than we are used to is because five of our last six draws under the old system were as champions so we didn't face any teams from pot 1.

Villarreal I imagine will be most sought after and sell out highest points, if people planning on getting wrecked in Benidorm. I’d like to go this one but no chance my 21,000 points will get anywhere near it. Bet it sells out 25,000
The dippers got just over 2000 tickets when they played there so might not be to bad
