Alexander Isak | Cried his way to a £130m move

So do you. It's simply my opinion and an assumption so give it a rest.

I agree and I don't understand why we didn't offload those older players this Summer. Because Chelsea and Liverpool easily got rid of the players they don't want anymore. We need quite a few more reinforcements and yet we are not getting them or selling players that aren't going to play much either. It's just nothing. Horrible approach considering we are rebuilding.
Yes, you're right you don’t understand.

So Liverpool is going to spend 450mil in one window while we are penny pinching for Donnarumma and a right back? Can someone remind Viana we need those players and we are one of the richest clubs in the world.

Liverpool is digging a fucking big hole and gambling on winning titles and the Champions League.
If Isak does move to Liverpool, then £450million is a crazy amount of money for one window, It's only Liverpool that is spending crazy money in europe and without any guarantees they will win silverware

Manchester City buy players with a value that is right for Manchester City in the long term, Jack Grealish was the last big-money player we signed and City got a return in winning the treble and 4 in a row, but he is now out on loan and City will sell for around £30/£40million next summer

Yet not a word about it in a negative way in the red shirt tabloids. If that was City, they would get absolutely slaughtered by the Red shirt tabloids.

He seems a bit naive, this isn't a computer game, where you can buy and sell players, without agents and the players doing what is in their best interests. We messed up last summer and are now playing catch-up to some extent, and it will take another year before the squad is fully rebuilt.

City gets both absolutely slaughtered by the Red shirt tabloids for Spending and Winning Silverware and CHEATING
Yet Liverpool settled out of Court when Manchester City found somebody from Liverpool FC hacking into our accounts
and when we reported it to the Premier League they thought it was in our best interests to settle out of court

BOY. I wish Manchester City could reopen the case and take them to the cleaners

I get the frustration, mate. We all want the big signings, and it looks strange when others are throwing £450m around while we’re haggling over a keeper and a right-back. But it’s not as simple as “we’re rich, just spend.”

Squad numbers matter, PSR/FFP matters, wages matter. You can’t just chuck players in without moving some on, and you can’t ignore the rules. Viana’s having to clear out ageing, high-earners while building the next cycle. This isn't Championship Manager.

That’s why we’re bringing in lads like Khusanov, Nypan, Echeverri, Reis, Savinho alongside Gvardiol and Reijnders. It’s a rebuild, not a spree. City’s success has always been built on patience and smart business, not reckless spending. Alright, we've made some blunders, but so have Arsenal and Liverpool.

Liverpool splashing cash doesn’t make it clever. Look over the road at United if you want proof. We’re not penny-pinching, we’re managing and when this rebuild clicks, we’ll be at the top of the Mountain once again.

Stay calm. Trust the process.

Exactly. You'll never hear complaints about United, Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG spending even more than we do (while winning less!). It's just City this, City that.. yawn
They hate our club more than they love their own club. Let that sink in. It's an obsession that's usually followed up with the 'we don't care' coping mechanism.

It's not just a shiny new signing, it's GK & RB that we desperately need, especially the right back.
Also, I'm not sure about them 'working hard' because our transfer activity in the past 2 months has been straight up dead. No ins, no outs. We have so much deadwood they haven't even started selling yet.
I respect the time you put into writing all that but there's just no way you can convince me that not buying a right back this Summer is some sort of a 'smart business' or a 'tactical plan' after we just suffered this whole year because we didn't have it.

Says a guy with the worst takes on the entire forum.
I'm far from perfect but whenever I see an absolute stinker of a take I always assume it's either you or Blue_Lightsaber and I guess around 70% of the time, I swear to God. It's actually hilarious at this point.

Fair points, but I think some of it’s way more complicated than it looks from the outside.

Viana deserves credit for a lot of the incomings this summer. We’re not overpaying for panic buys, and that’s smart business in a market full of inflated rubbish.

On the outgoings though, it’s not always the club’s fault. Players have to want to move also. Akanji’s had offers but so far doesn’t want to go. Stones has said he never wants to leave. Kovacic is injured, so it's hard to shift a player who can’t pass a medical. Ederson seems to be stalling. Spurs didn’t meet the asking price for Savinho. Shifting Kalvin Phillips is like trying to sell a Sofa on Facebook Marketplace.

Rodrygo might’ve been approached, but that doesn’t mean he wanted the move to Manchester.

You can’t force players out or magic up buyers. Yes, we need a right back badly. We all see that. But moving pieces around to make room isn’t as simple as it sounds. You don’t just click “sell” and line up replacements. It will take another 12-18 months to see this squad take shape.

We are a Tino Livramento signing away from everyone calling this a 10/10 window. We clearly wanted the player, but Newcastle clearly did not want to sell. You can't blame the club for not trying.

Don’t think Arsenal is that far with their 300M. None of them invested that much in the last years. They might even be able to double it before getting in trouble

Their net spend so far is £67m.

Agree. Remember too we don't destroy / scapegoat players we want / need to leave like certain other clubs , with the aim of making their exit a certainty . I know we all lap it up but that soap opera down the road is a foul cesspit of vile hypocrisy in the way they build them up and pull them down . Six months ago that trio on the pitch side hoarding were the bees knees , now look . ...

They have sold a shit load of players for decent fees. Far from me to defend them but they have done well with sales.

They have. But they have still spent net more than what when we spend gross, we get pelters for. And nobody even seems to mention their overall.
