Sverre Nypan | Signs for City on a 5 year deal

Yeah, not many successes when they hit the loans straight away, I think Zin is about the only one and his loan was a disaster as well.

Though a lot of our youth who have been sold to other clubs seem to have a better hit rate but those clubs will have no interest in loaning, buying cheapish and selling high is their model.
I agree, but think this may change. I saw something last week that said that Viana had progression from the Academy as a high priority. For those on the cusp of the first-team, whom we think have serious potential, I suspect we may see an increase in loan activity. If McAidoo and Gorman, for example, make the step to EDS and continue to do what they did in the U18, I suspect they will spend 18-20 elsewhere.

Regarding the influence of Nypan's father, I suspect a small language/cultural issue. Some of the northern European nations speak in a very direct manner and it can be disconcerting to us as we are less forthcoming, and perhaps less honest. If the exchange between both parties is completely transparent, then there should be no concerns.

That "foreign press" you mention is a Norwegian site that his dad (a Norwegian) is talking to. The English translation may or may not be 100% accurate but the fact that he name checks Girona is of no surprise to anyone.

I'm sorry, but your post sounds a bit 'little englander'.
Really, what exactly is a little Englander and what has that got to do with somebody thinking his dad was being a bit mouthy and a potential distraction further down the line?

For your information, I had started the post, couldn't be bothered to go back 3 pages to find who the interview was with, I could have presumed and put Norwegian press but I put foreign press, as that was still correct.

I also said, see Bellingham's Dad for an example, in the original post, is that part making me a little Englander, as well?
It is about a mouthy dad not 'foreign press' ffs

I more sure he’ll play for us than I have been for any other player we’ve bought and loaned. Only need to read about him and how much he thought about his many options. For him to decide on us knowing the plan was a years loan says he’s had a lot of assurances about his career progression plan. Obviously nothing is guaranteed.
Think he comes in as Bernardo replacement.
I can neither agree nor disagree, having seen nothing yet. But I do like the confidence and consistency you say this with, so I'll go agead and believe you on this one ;).

It isn’t from watching him myself, it isn’t from you tube videos, its from reading what others I respect have said about him not just as a player but as a person and how driven he is. He hasn’t just jumped at the first big club that’s put a big payday on the table, even staying in Norway longer than he needed to with offers he had.
Of course could still not develop how he’s expected to.

It would seem so.

We're, we, we, 'the plan' talking about 8 teams lining up to loan him.

City's decision, not Daddy's to decide and not Daddy's place to spout off to the press.

Think Bellingham's dad.

It won't be City's decision in full though will it. He'll have a say on where he goes, and that will have been discussed as part of him choosing to come to us.

The "we" is great. He's already bought into City and referring to City and them as "we".

if that is the case, then fine.

Kid is a going to be a great player, so hopefully, the dad will sit back and watch like Alfie now does.

Like what I saw yesterday, didnt expect him to get stuck in like he did, prevented a few break aways and shots at goal no lightweight for sure, expected he'd be more a silky player which as well very encouraging and he's going to become a regular started for them. Good around performance
