Jack Grealish - Everton on loan

He is still playing on the left though like he was at Villa and City. He isn't good enough for City simple as or he would have nailed down a starting spot for us . Jack only has himself to blame. I've got to say fuck the trophies is a strange quote.
Sarcasm from Txiki I think.

Last year we needed control in games and pep didn't play jack who gives you control. He played against forrest at home in a central position and had a great game. Then was left out of the team for ages. Whilst his stats weren't as good as they could be for us it's no coincidence we won the treble with him as a regular in the team and instead of building on that success the next season we bought doku who walked straight into the team ahead of Jack. I think pep tinkered too much here and ended up mismanaging a superb talent which we saw before at Villa, we saw in our treble season and we will see now he's at Everton. Its genuinely sad as fans love the guy and he really connects with supporters in a similar way to Zaba and Vinny. As a fanbase we need players like Jack.

Jack has found his level. He excels against a team that don’t defend with 11 men. In a top side which has to cope with low block every game, he goes missing.
Good luck to him as he’s a nice guy but as I’ve said , he looks good as he’s now in a team that is his level - like Villa were.

I hate to say it but I agree with them. Fuck the trophies, get a manager who is ready to play Jack in his natural position and if that position doesn't work, then try the other natural position
Go and watch Everton then to see your hero achieve the square root of fuck all Love Jack, and he helped us achieve a lot, but since the treble he's been shite and has had the opportunities, he's no longer good enough for a team competing for the major honors and it makes me sad. To idolize him to the extent that you would like City to get rid of Pep and replace him with someone who would make Jack the fulcrum is frankly the most ridiculous post ive seen on here for a long time

He is playing on the left he isn't in a new position.
But he is being given free reign on the left to come inside which is not what he was allowed to do under Pep's new system which for the last two years has been stagnant, uncreative and tedious.

Yet only Jack got the verbal criticism.

Some blues on here actually think jack is a life long city fan.
Let's have it right he played well for maybe 4 months out of 3 years, has cost us about £150 million in transfer fees and wages, now he's got a few assists for Everton believe he should have been first name on the team sheet.
Pep and his staff have seen him every day in training to conclude he wasn't doing it.
Best we could hope for is he does well this season and someone offers us a decent fee next summer.

Of course he came inside - all our wingers do.

Working under Pep requires an enormous amount of mental and physical effort and some players adapt better than others. Jack probably operates better with less mental pressure

Plenty of players have been allowed to play directly under Pep, even the likes of Doku now.

Whether Jack was under strict instructions to not play as direct or not, who knows, but it's a bit of a myth that Pep micro manages every player to the point that players can't attack defences. He's had loads of players with the freedom to do so.

Sent from my Asus iPad.

Must have been a coincidence that he did it all his life until he played under pep and started again the day he walked out the door.
Anyhow he's still our player so let's hope he has a fantastic season.

There will be an element of Everton not facing a 10 man defensive wall every game too!
There will which is valid. But what also is valid is a manager believing in him and playing him. Jacks a confidence player. The second pep lost faith and then played him one every 5-10 games then his performances will always suffer

I agree with a lot of what you’ve said, but those Everton supporters hugging him at the end of yesterdays game would have been the same ones booing his every touch last time they saw him play.

Do they?

Yet he's thrving under this system and not under Pep's.
Absolutely they do - Bobb and Doku both.

You cannot thrive without playing.
I think, as has been said, it is more of a mental thing.
I hope he does well. He seems a lovely bloke and we all deserve happiness.
We move on and hope that the best of our new recruits replace those we loved.
In a top team like ours, you have to embrace the competition and earn the right to play. It suits some people and doesn't suit others. That is okay. It may also suit people for a period, and then they find the relentlessness of it to be too much. That is also okay.

Pep to blame. For last season. You can’t tell me the players he persisted with who underperformed weekly was a better choice every week. The cup final summed it up

Because City fans were so respectful of Tevez when he played for the Scum , weren't we.

I wouldn't blame Evertonians for embracing him now Jack is playing well for them.

Would you sacrifice our trophies and our records for one individual being the best they can be?
