52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

We’ve got talented wingers, Bobb very much fits that description - but for two years now all the wingers have been all sizzle and no sausage. Could it be the way we play is the problem not the players?

I still
Laugh that people say he is proven. Idk if he would start in another top 4/5 team. Average player. That’s all

Is everyone on here writing him off now already?
The problem is he is 22 years old, apart from 1 goal against Newcastle 18 months ago and being decent in a few friendlies last summer he has shown nothing to suggest he should be a starting forward player in a team fighting for top honours. If he was starting for Liverpool or Arsenal I'd be over the moon.

He wouldn’t start for any of them. But he‘s been hyped as the god here.

Its the eay we play. Its yalent depressing

Really poor, a couple of times today in loads of space and walks with it so all the Brighton players can get back then looses it. I miss winger that run at the defence

Get him out on loan.

After missing a year, he needs regular weekly football which we aren’t going to give him, nor should we based on last 2 matches.

People defending on account of his age.. he’s 22. He’s four years older than Yamal.

Undoubtedly got a trick or two but a worrying lack of pace for a winger. Can’t seem to get away from defenders.

No, but I think it's fair to say that a team looking to win the title shouldn't be relying on a decent youngster as their first choice starting winger (yes, I know others are injured), unless it's someone on the level of Lamine Yamal. He was lively at times and had a few good moments, and the rest of the time, he looked like a youngster floating in and out of the game, struggling a bit with the physical side of things. And we've arguably got one or two too many players in the same boat.

I'd say you might have a point, except one of the reasons he played the full game is that there was nobody else to play there. If he goes on loan, who plays there then?

Felt like he tried to dribble a little TOO much.

There were a lot of times I saw 2 or 3 bodies back post and I thought

"Bobb is cutting... now cross! Stop dribbling 2 players"

Pinning our hopes on a player who had only played 900 minutes in senior football was as naive as it comes.

Yet despite that, he is still our best winger, which tells you everything you need to know about our recruitment in the last few years.

It’s the way we play. It’s been obvious for 2 years now
