Players need to be.The crowd need to be up for it against the red shite.
We should be used to them now mate.Another weekend ruined
He didn’tHe did his own version of Haalands celebration to take the piss Eccles! Horrid little man he is.
It was Jotas gaming celebration mate - don't get yourself twisted over it
It’s not difficult to work out what has gone wrong. We are all hurting after the last 2 games - we all much anticipation of a younger, fitter side determined to start fast and lay down a marker this season & that has already been thrown away.
It's really hard to put a finger on what has gone so wrong. The older players who Pep relies on Bernie & Dias for example have followed others who fell off a cliff form and physicality wise. The new signings have quickly fallen into being literally frightened to express themselves. The younger squad players Lewis, O'Reilly, Bobb who are now being told they have to step up look lost in terms of positioning on the pitch. The shape of the team is terrible - zero attempts after min 34 is so bad.
Today we give a pen away because we have a player who does not want to get hit in the face - what we should have done is keep shape at the back and take the draw - instead what they did was run aimlessly into forward positions - Ruben, Air-Noiri (who frankly looks incapable of making a tackle) and Lewis all should have remained in shape - John lost the possession and suddenly it was 3 v's 1 so of course they get the winner. Where the f*** was Lewis again? Playing with himself in their half!!
The above is all about 2 things, coaching and an individuals commitment to the cause. It seems to me that Pep is at odds with the transfer planning and squad trimming by the higher ups. Perhaps I'm wrong and this maybe an over reaction but whichever way you look at it something is terribly wrong with the fact that we have lost 2 games because we didn't compete on a fitness and commitment level. Christ it's not as if they were 2 teams who are flying - Spurs and Brighton will not be in the top 6 this year but both made us look very average when they suddenly decided "hey, these are not that great lets just press a bit and they will panic."
For me the only good thing today was our keeper made a world class save and that will be forgotten because his defenders couldn't do their jobs when Brighton went more physical. I felt sorry for Trafford because he did well & now we will hear calls that it's all about how the keeper plays the ball out again - no Pep it's tactics that other managers have sussed out and the fact remains in any sport you work harder than the opposition and you more often than not win.
I'm officially depressed.
That was fucking shit today mate, a week after being fucking shit against Spuds.Moaning cunts asking for Pep out. Who are you replacing him with?
It’s 3 games in. Not the best start but again, it’s 3 games in.
Once the window closes tomorrow we will settle and get our mojo off and running.
Pep out? Wankers.
As long as we dominate for the first 45 mins the end result doesn't matter does itThat's utter rubbish. We were dominating the game and switched off
Well said, Rodri.
He should be captain. Not teachers pet.
That is our best back four thoughTwo of those will likely be injured and wont be regularly available this season (Ake and Stones)...Gvardiol is injured himself.
I'll keep this short and brief as to what my next hour or so will consist of.
Critical of everybody.
Fall out with a few Blues.
Close the forum and go get drunk.
I am not going to do any of that. See you all in a few days.
Bobb is not a right winger, Nunes is not full back, Ait-Nouri god knows what he is. Not surprising we have been sussed out.
Something needs to change at the club before the rags roll into Manchester
Pep's style no longer works in the Prem. The Prem is about defending (especially against us) then a attacking with intensity - often on the break. This works better against certain teams also and unfortunately we are one of those teams.Possession football just allows other teams to sit back and defend. Then they attack and we aren't set up to defend. We can have all the control in the world but it means nothing when it means we're toothless on attack and weak at the back. Then when we need a goal possession football just doesn't cut it.We need a right back. It's a shock I know, but yet again that was our problem area. The penalty he couldn't do much about, but so many poor touches from him, he just isn't good enough if we want to be successful. And neither is Rico yet.
We didn't have a shot on target since Haaland's goal I think I heard...unacceptable. Rodri was very good but even with him in there it was like we had no structure or fixed patterns of play. Too many taking loads of touches before losing the ball.
As soon as Brighton upped the tempo we were gone.
If it continues like this I can't see Pep staying much longer, and it won't be his decision.
