No chance this team isnt up to it, im not sure even pep is anymore. Brighton dominated us that 2nd half we looked terrified just as we did for most of last season.

I think this is what a lot haven’t considered properly. Could even be a lean five year period or longer, when you consider how lean the periods of the other big teams have been.

I wouldn't want my two best players (by absolute miles) to be over 33. Kerkez and frimpong aren't pound for pound better than what they're replacing. Wirtz could be really good, but he'd have to be absolutely generational just to make up for what they lose in Salah.

This current Liverpool team hasnt been going for 30 years!
Last year they won at a canter and took the foot off the gas. Besides if you win any title surely it makes you a great side, no?

I was prepared cautiously to put us in the three favourites.
I'm now starting to feel I was mistaken. Not certain, but starting to feel it. It's no good saying we're only three games in. I simply don't see what would make this team gell and bring it back to something like the level of our vintage teams of 2016-2023.
Arsenal and Liverpool are nothing like great teams. (As we're currently seeing). But they're way ahead of us. They can maintain a not particularly brilliant level, and get a result. Liverpool's result against Newcastle is a case in point.
We can't. We took the lead today, were not particularly good, and reaped nothing from the game in the end.

No it will be a few years before we win it again.

The current squad is not at the level required its a long way off and a tired Pep who has lost his mojo at our club which is inevitable means we need to discover again what players are required to challenge again.

Easy to see us scrambling for 60 points this season even after three games and 6 points worse off already than the same time last season.
