Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

It's not JUST THIS SEASON.

Yes we got over the line for top 4 last seaosn. But our performances were shite in generally.

Its not about losing, winning or drawing games anymore. It's more about performances. And they have been abject in the main!! And total continuation of the last 12 months.

We are boring. Laboured. Passive and weak. With zero creativity.
Spot on! It’s actually joyless to watch. Never mind losing but nice to see effort and excitement in a game.

He is irrelevant and makes no difference to this performance or any in the last 18 months...
He is a sideshow and the only relevence is that he was for most parts a massive flop at this club and cant handle the pressure on playing for us
he also has a lifestyle problem which most dont want to acknowledge

Two things can be true though.

If Doku went to Everton I’d guess he’d look just like Grealish right now.

We have bought average players in wide spots and then made it even worse by not having full backs. We can’t fix one without fixing the other.

Any manager who wants to come in and attack, quick, direct and with purpose. Not build up slow as fuck allowing a full team to get in shape and nullify us with absolute ease. Who that man is I don’t know. I don’t call the shots. I don’t do the interviews. I just want him gone and last year as we beat wolves away to be top of the league I said all the same about our play. Being boring and winning is manageable. Being boring and outfought weekly is fucking miserable
Who that man is I don’t know.

So you’re talking out of your arse then.

Remember Al Hilal beat us. Fuckin Al Hilal! Caught out playing a high line by a pub team. Nothing has changed.
We attack at a fuckin snail’s pace and as for leaders on the pitch, there isn’t one!
Strap yourselves in for some serious hidings this season!

I think Pep’s subs were wrong in these two games. When we needed a goal, he took off Marmoush, the only other scoring threat besides Haaland, and brought on midfielders and defenders who offered no goal threat, only ball control.

Could there be a continued injury / match fitness problem?

Tactics, quality and squad novelty are also playing a part. But could a fully fit old guard sew up those patches.

Spot on
City and Pep have had 3 months to clear the deadwood out and build a new sqaud

NOW we have less than 24 hours to sort out the squad, and that includes Keepers, defenders and wingers
Clearly something is way off at the club ? Pep and City don't or never did by chance and leave it to fate

Trouble is NOW you have a unsettled squad with players that 100% don't want to be here or happy to sit on the bench and pick up their wages
I’ve said it before but I seriously reckon there has been a change of mentality at board level. They’ve won the Champions League/Treble, job done. There’s every chance City could just be a money earner now, the majority of the recent transfer windows have reflected just that. Occasional spending a bit to keep everyone happy at the time.

Funny how he looked brilliant in the club World Cup and I thought we’d got an absolute worldie of a left back. After today I am fucking clueless as to what he is.
Sorry but against Al-Hilal he was shite

We've suffered a few defeats (quite often unluckily) at the start of previous campaigns and still won the League.

However, the performance today was as worrying and lifeless as I can remember in the Pep era.

We've been drifting for too long and this could easily get a lot worse.
