Russian invasion of Ukraine

The White House believes Europe is undermining Donald Trump’s quest for peace in Ukraine by convincing Volodymyr Zelensky to hold out for a better deal.

AKA accept the Russian peace plan and surrender the Donbas...

The White House is delusional if they think Zelensky/Ukraine will accept that.

The White House doesn’t care a damn for Ukraine or European security. Their only objective is to con a Nobel peace prize for the orange Looney.

Despite all the talk of how Putin dominates Trump intellectually, it rarely get said that so does Zelensky, despite it being manifest.
 
I sincerely hope that the new Ukraine missile works as well as expected.
If the Storm Shadow and German Taurus have US components that prohibit their use then interchanging with the Ukraine one may produce a purely European version of both leaving Pres Trump without his decision as to their use.
 
I see Putin is currently in the company of all the other world leading wrong uns in China, being feted by them while he bombs civilians in Ukraine.

Liaising with China is necessary for pretty much any country in the world, given they are such big hitters (arguably the biggest, or soon to be) even if it is viewed by some as a necessary evil, but the way that Russia ingratiates themselves with what is unquestionably the most oppressive, brutal, preposterous and utterly horrible regime in the world in North Korea, when they are only doing so in order to prosecute a faltering and illegal war shows how far Russia’s stock has fallen in the last few years.

It’s akin to all those lords of the manor in that series ‘The Gentlemen’ having to go into partnership with all those gangsters to put huge cannabis grows on their estates to try and keep them afloat.

Russia has fuck all right to pontificate and give it the Billy Big Bollocks (as they so frequently do) when they are kowtowing to a regime like that. It’s unbelievably fucking small time from a so-called global power.

Launch control software.
All the orbital projectile warhead delivery system stuff is home grown anyway.
The Trident launch body only acts as a big controlled firework to get the rest into orbit and going in the right orbital direction towards the target area.
We didn't just buy a weapons system off the shelf and put our own warheads in it. The MOD were insistent on that even though the Treasury were pushing to buy totally off the shelf at the time to reduce costs.
The software platform may be the same as the US version, but the orbital guidance software is very definately not.
In hindsight an excellent decision baring in mind what Trump did to ATACMS in Ukraine.

The flight control software is hosted onboard US computer systems and only uploaded to the missile immediately prior to launch.

The missile software is all US and I agree with you there are no US kill switches or US controlled interlocks embedded in it.

There were two opportunities and both were scuppered by the Americans
Ukraine has to survive whilst the ruSSian economy collapses. That will end the war
Best result for Ukraine is that it retrieves some of the occupied territory. It'll never get all of it back and in all sadness, Crimea is lost

Think this is a fair assessment. No way are they getting everything back, short of Russian society collapsing. Its economy collapsing alone won’t be enough.
