It's Quiet the £250m return

The sad thing is, the squad is in a mess, and many aren't good enough but we've had the opportunity to move Sav, and Rico on, and to compound it we've unfathomably given Dias a new contract. All 3 of those decisions are mistakes imo.

Sell one of the best U21 right backs in the world and one of the best U21 wingers in the world to start the rebuild?

I don't think people appreciate how ahead of the curve Rico and Sav are.

An under 24 core of:

Gvardiol - good enough
Cherki - unknown
Doku - 3rd season....its now or never
Savinho - wanted out
Bobb - needs a bit of time but big steps needed
Gonzalez - doesnt get the game time
Lewis - not good enough...had plenty of opportunity and he just proves he isnt every time he is asked to defend
Trafford - decent
Khusanov - looks very good
Reis - unknown - may never play for us
Echeverri - unknown - may never play for us
Nypan - unknown - may never play for us
O'Reilly - he is a number 10 so he question is wil he be good enough for a team wanting to compete in the CL - if he is there are some big steps t take

Is actually pretty impressive. Can our fans show maybe 2 years of patience?

Patience is one thing but the club has to compete....slip too far down and when these players are reaching their potential, if they do, then the club wont be in a position to attract the world class players to supplement them

That's possible, but I'm ultimately not sure the club could be doing much more to aid their development.

I feel like a lot of people on here are willing to torch the future to be a bit closer to Liverpool this year.

He was good the only issue today is I feel he’s very hesitant on the ball he always holds on to it longer than he should.
He is a little more hesitant than we are used to, but we are three games in. I am very confident that as he builds game time, he will become more assured. He was definitely decent with his feet in the academy.

You have made it quite obvious you don’t want Donna here but surely you can see with Eddie and possibly Ortega going, we need another quality keeper.
Yes we probably do though we could hold Ederson to his contract for starters.

But other than that go for another young upcoming keeper like the lad we were brefily linked to a week or so ago

That makes more sense

So they've brought in a load of players under 25 that bluemoon has already decided are shite and want replaced with 29 year olds so we never get better and we never start the rebuild.

Marmoush and Khusanov are completely fine, Reis is on loan as is Echeverri, Nico Gonzalez imo has done well but Pep seems to not 100% fancy him, Cherki despite having one injury in 4 years at Lyon is now out for months? There is the best part of £380m spent in 6 months and no club can look twice years down the line on a number of players when champions league revenue is vital to push on? I wonder what Erling was promised when signing such a long contract?

Football is about the here and now....the future becomes more difficult if we don't take care of the now

.look what happened to the rags and scousers when they got complacent ...this could be the start of a very slippery slope

Maybe but it's also done in 3 or 4 year cycles. I think people are overreacting to act this squad can't get top 5 and CL last 8.

Maybe the most-pertinent question is is Pep the man to spearhead another 4 year cycle? Does he want to be?

I think we will agree Eddie is no longer staying and, if forced to would be in no ones interest. Trafford played really well today but is still young and inexperienced. I see more positives getting an experienced keeper in and let them battle it out rather than have two youngsters who are still upcoming

You can't complain about the squad's decline in quality and then complain when we replace Ederson with Donnarumma.

Not like we're breaking the bank for him either.

Name better ones?
Lol, I don't care about their age, all I care about is are they good enough, and will they be good enough in the future, for me they aren't and won't be. Not for a team that wants to win the league and cl anyway. It's no surprise that Forest and Spurs were the club's in for them, not exactly serial winners are they?

I see more positives in keeping Trafford as no.1. Donaruuma with the ball at his feet will lead to even more indecision in our back 4, more long kicks leading to more turn over in possession as we are a team that needs possession.. not one who can fight to get it...

Waste of resource and time much better used to sorting the multitude of other glaring issues we have

How can you be so sure?

Cherki & Foden are very creative and we missed them today.

And even the other two you mentioned, you can’t be so sure how the game would have been if they had played.
The only time I’ve felt confident about the season ahead was the tail end of the spurs game when we had Rodri, And Foden on the field in midfield. Haaland is getting crumbs and I don’t see where the service will come
From other than Phil.
