On the field there are question marks over recruitment. Off the field there are issues to which point to financial success being the main driver, now that the CL mission is done.

My concern is that the hierarchy is now happy to compete, rather than win, if competing delivers greater financial return overall than winning does.
Alvarez money was fine, as was Palmers at the time.
