I disagree Marv. There’s no way we dominated the first hour. We were merely fairly solid but unspectacular.
Solid but unspectacular is not that far off dominated. I was frustrated when we were on top that we weren't going for the jugular but it was an extremely one-sided game until the pen. changed it.

Pep might not have after this season?

Hopefully Pep will see out his final contract?
I hope so. If there’s rumours of Pep potentially not seeing out his contract then that itself is worrying. We want a fully committed manager. I also don’t agree in signing players that go totally against a managers way of playing, despite if that manager only has a year left.

Where have you obtained this view from. I watched all of PSG games against English clubs in the Champions League last season and I thought he was magnificent.

I don't know why people are now convinced he's signing. SSN Transfer show didn't even mention him.

He made a some very good saves vs Aston Villla but also conceded 4 goals and had a 67% pass completion.

Liverpool? Had 4 shots on target in 180mins. He had 51% pass completion. Fair he saved couple pens from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones.

Arsenal, mistake in group stage loss vs them but very good in knockouts albeit a 49% pass completion.

Dominating is what we used to do mate. 78% possession, 25 shots on goal, 3-0 up at half time, putting together 35 pass moves topped off with a sublime finish.

It doesn't really matter as we'd have Trafford still and could probably get our money back on Donnarumma in a year or two if it doesn't work out.
From whom? He's available at a cut price now due to his contract status and there hasn't been a host of takers. His wages will be astronomical, if he doesnt work out, Its not going to be so easy to move him on.

Cmon mate. He’s one of the best keepers in the world. Let’s face it based off this season so far, we are going to be facing a lot of shots in the immediate future - who gives a fuck if he can’t pick Haaland out from 60 yards if he can keep a clean sheet for us.
Then why are the champions of europe willing to get rid of him? He can't play the way they want to play and they play the same way as we do or at least how we want to. That should be raising alarm bells.

He had a lower save percentage last season than Ederson. His expected saves/goals ratio was drastically lower than Ederson, psg want to ditch him despite winning the champions league with him because he doesnt fit the style.

What style is that, Winning trophies ?

PSG are selling him because he won’t bend to their contract negotiations. Simple.

Had no issue with him for two years, Tonnes of games under Enrique. Wins a treble and then suddenly PSG are changing their style of play, just as Donnarumma comes into his final 12mths. Just a coincidence I guess.

Lets be honest, they won because of their pressing which caused us nightmares.

They used that and wrecked everyone.

They have been after the keeper they replaced him with for a good while.

They have been looking to upgrade on that position and they didnt want to pay the wages he demands, its PSG being more than willing for him to leave than any idea of him forcing his way out.

Looks like its happening so we'll see soon enough how it all pans out, I think it will be an extremely poor fit, make us even worse. See more errors and ultimately be a disaster but i'll back him and very much hope i'll be eating my words as soon as possible on that.

Seem some saying it’s a rag-esque signing. But that’s just because he’s a big name. Probably likening him to Falcao, Ibrahimovic, Schweinsteiger etc. but Donnarumma is 26 years old, one of the best in the world and not yet into his prime age for a goalkeeper. On a cut-price deal too.

Fantastic deal.
I think it’s because it’s a huge name but with the caveat that he has been deemed as surplus to requirements at his current club, will be on huge wages and doesn’t really fit the way the manager wants to play football.

The concerns are valid imo.

Will instantly make us a better team

In isolation this is a great signing, people are just upset we haven't signed a right back and addressed other areas

Trafford played well so far this season, but he's not a no1 at this level just yet

Donnarumma, Nunes(!), Stones, Gvardiol, Ait Nouri, Rodri, Reijnders, Foden, Cherki, **top class winger**, Haaland

Wouldn't be a bad side, but feels like we are just short in quality at RB and on the wings

Tbh I'm tired of the way that we want to play football, it's one of the most overused clichés on here in the last few months

I want to win, and Donnarumma is an amazing keeper

He's surplus to requirements in the same way that Ederson is at City, doesn't make Ederson a good keeper does it?

Club can't win sometimes. We've got some fans moaning we are in this mess because we haven't signed any top line big game ready players recently and are just buying potential. We then are seemingly about to buy a proven winner at both international and European club level and fans aren't happy. And the people saying I'd of just kept Ederson, he doesn't want to be here! Donnarumma might not be great with his feet, if we as fans apparently know this sure Pep and the management team know this too and they want him still.

I wonder what Trafford was told before this signing and again now. Perhaps he knew all along perhaps not. I think we will probably know the answer to this one eventually.

People who dismiss ederson (not me) have been crying out for a world class shot stopper. Now we're getting one of the best in the world, just won a treble and people would rather go with an unproven kid... Baffling to be honest!

Absolutely thrilled we getting this guy in. PROPER GK! He won't tolerate some of the shite at the back we have seen since wheels starting to come off for starters. Softening the blow of our start this season bigtime. Debut in derby . . .

Good signing, class GK.
But it's hard to get exited about a signing that is strengthening the one area of the team that already looked somewhat decent while we are ignoring all major issues keeping us from competing to win trophies. In my opinion.
