Gianluigi Donnarumma | Done deal according to Romano

Seem some saying it’s a rag-esque signing. But that’s just because he’s a big name. Probably likening him to Falcao, Ibrahimovic, Schweinsteiger etc. but Donnarumma is 26 years old, one of the best in the world and not yet into his prime age for a goalkeeper. On a cut-price deal too.

Fantastic deal.
Anyone who thinks that is clueless. As you say, this is one of the best in the world with his prime yet to come, joining one of the biggest clubs in the world. I don’t even regard it as a coup, it’s where we shop.

What style is that, Winning trophies ?

PSG are selling him because he won’t bend to their contract negotiations. Simple.

Had no issue with him for two years, Tonnes of games under Enrique. Wins a treble and then suddenly PSG are changing their style of play, just as Donnarumma comes into his final 12mths. Just a coincidence I guess.

Is that not a red flag in itself? The fact that we're willing to pay him wages PSG think he's not worth? Not exactly tight arses, are they?

And I'm pretty sure Enrique did want to replace him with a better on the ball keeper. People on here seem to only want to focus on his great form in the CL last season but he was pretty shit in the league.

Good signing, class GK.
But it's hard to get exited about a signing that is strengthening the one area of the team that already looked somewhat decent while we are ignoring all major issues keeping us from competing to win trophies. In my opinion.

Don't worry, we are going to play him as a right back!

It's a shame considering Trafford performance yesterday but a solid name through the door cannot be sniffed out. We needed that level of name and signing outfield as well though

I think it’s because it’s a huge name but with the caveat that he has been deemed as surplus to requirements at his current club, will be on huge wages and doesn’t really fit the way the manager wants to play football.

The concerns are valid imo.
Points to there being a new manager next season imo.

Such a head scratching deal

only thing i could imagine is Pep changing how we transition the ball

He hasn’t come to City to sit on the bench.
Well he'll have a job displacing the young lad playing in the Championship last season

Lets not beat around the bush here, he's 10 times the keeper that Trafford is right now, and has the stature and experience to make us better immediately

Couldn't care less if he can't pass the ball very well

I agree with you.

Hopefully he can impact the back 4 positively as well?

Somebody has to.

I think it is a coup. I associate Donnarumma with PSG winning the Champions League. I know that there are some fans who think his style doesn't suit City but last season PSG were just an amazing football side and I was jealous watching them. If Donnarumma can excel in such a good footballing side, then why can't he do the same at City?

If we can make this signing it will remind City players, fans and the rest of football, that City are still in business.

City fans can only focus on what we see.
