Thank You Ederson Moraes

He absolutely transformed goalkeeping when he arrived. He will go down as one of the greats and it's incredible to think within a few years of him coming, every keeper in the top 10 divisions now tries to play sweeper keeper. I can't think of any other player in football history to transform a role like he did.

Good luck!

Is it his own decision to leave? Do we know why that might be? Swapping PL for Turkish league seems bizarre.
I know we've had bumps along the way but the confidence in the back four was obviously much higher with him involved to receive the ball as a passing option to beat a press, that's already so evident.

If not Eddies choice to leave, then that seems an odd decision by the club

So... why do you think that Ederson refuses to sign a contract extension and we're looking at a new keeper?
Because he's a human being who might have a hundred reasons why he wants a change. He has been with his current employer 8+ years, in that time he's won everything and given everything.

Sometimes people just need a change. Most of the players who played with him have moved on over time, maybe that has something to do with it.

Maybe he thinks that Pep's methods are no longer working, who knows.

There is one thing we do know though, he's been a loyal and dedicated team player, and far from egotistical.

Times change, as fans we need to accept that, and we can't just turn on players because they want to move on.

I'm sure in our own lives we've all changed jobs, I'd like to think every employer I've worked for doesn't hate me just because I wanted a change.

would have deserved some nicer send off. KDBs fairwell was beautiful but likes of Ederson, Gundo stood there in the back while leaving us for good too this summer.

Been a monster for us over the last 8 years. Gonna miss the big man. Showed real guts to come back as soon as he did after that kick in the head from Mane. Good luck to him and I wish all the best to him and his family.
The redderest of red cards, yet the media said he got the choirboy Mane sent off

When we changed Joe Hart for the talented Brazilian I thought he must have been special. Well imo he certainly was. I loved his coolness, and his ability to hit near perfect long balls, and his shot stopping, (especially against inter). I've really enjoyed watching Eddie. He's one of the best,if not the best, we've had at city. Oh,I did see Bert Trautman play, but I was only 7 and couldn't appreciate him at the time.
All I can say now is thankyou and good luck Ederson Morealis on your next adventure. Once a blue.

He should go with the blessing and best wishes of every blue.

After the service he’s given us, he’s quite entitled to choose himself what he does, whether that’s stay or move on.

Sure there are better shot-stoppers and there has been the odd mistake, but show me a keeper that hasn’t made the odd mistake. As others have said, he’s basically redefined the role of what a keeper does and we will probably never see another quite like him. As Gary Chuckle said in commentary on more than one occasion “there are established Premier League midfielders who can’t pass a ball like Ederson”, or words to that effect.

The best game I ever saw him play for us was the CL final. For that alone he deserves our utmost gratitude, thanks and best wishes. That save in the dying seconds won us the Treble.

Maybe we could have him back as a coach one day - if he could teach the next generation…….

Only took a few games before the panic at his "style of play" was replaced by a confidence. Loved seeing him do his thing and will miss him when hes gone.

Great keeper, a bloody exceptional talent, he is going to be diffult to replace. Another legend gone. We move on. Up the blues

Game-changing keeper and a fucking cool dude to boot. A vital cog in our winning machine for a very long time, and should go down in history as not just City's best ever keeper but one of the best and most revolutionary players in that position of all time. I think it's probably the right time to move on now, but wish him the best of luck to him for the rest of his career.
