It's Quiet the £250m return

Means paying the wages for 3 players who won’t play. We already have Phillips we need more players in that category
Worst case scenario yes. Best case scenario they move to a club where the window is still open when it's crystal clear they are not registered and wont be playing a single minute here a World Cup year. Either way, we are supposedly aiming to be the best team in the world and cant keep players deemed not good enough around because of financial reasons and that no one is stupid enough to take them off our wage bill. Them being under any illusion they can just refuse to leave and still be registered in the squad probably wont help our efforts to get rid of them.

If a player doesn’t want to leave, you cannot force them
Correct, but they've had months to find appealing clubs who would be of interest to these players - we've clearly budgeted for their contracts so even if they are just nominal fees to offset the wages owed, and clear them from the squad as Pep demands?

Surely there are clubs who can offer attractive lifestyle moves in some of Europe's finest cities, that appeal over sitting on the bench/in the stands in Manchester?

As a fan and outsider who knows nothing of the inside dealings, this squad management situation looks a fucking farce.

Under 6.5 hours to go and we're scrambling around trying to get 3 senior players to go, and it appears we've been hamstrung on signing players in crucial positions because of this.

Honestly what the fuck have those responsible been doing all summer?

The reality is if we wanted these players out we should have left them out of the CWC squad as we did with Grealish and made it clear that they had no future and then they would have all had all season to find another club. Instead they have been within the squad getting mixed messages - with the club hoping they’d go but now that’s not materialised and we are having to push very hard at the last minute. Hardly a good way to treat players who have been good for us, and not particularly good squad planning.

It also can't be ideal for Pep trying to galvanise a squad for a new era and set sights on challenging for the title, when there are so many faces from the previous era that they are actively trying to get rid of, throughout the dressing room

No idea where the thought is coming from to play Akanji as a RB.

We can't go back in time 5+ yrs, that ship has sailed.
He has the body of a CB, too massive to hold pacey wingers with top acceleration.
And he cant' do the casual runs going forward.

That's why he doesn't play RB. Same for Johnny.
Their hammies would be gone after a match or 2.
Forget it.

Nunes and Rico will cover that, depending on the opponent.

What most people do when they can’t sell anything, they give it to charity. Give Gundo to Gala. 1 space freed up.

Pep refuses to change mate imo and other teams have worked it out. Many laughed at Arteta signing ball playing giants and mixing it up but seemingly he has worked out if he only plays and copies the Pep way it wont work? Arsenal now have both ways of playing if required whereas we dont.
Well it’s not going to end well then, Pep is almost untouchable, almost, thing is if this continues then what does Khaldoon do? We can’t keep spending £100s of millions for nothing otherwise we are going the way of United. The other problem we have is that everyone plays the Pep way all the way down to the kids, so if it’s been sussed then what do we do about that, great if you have good young players but once they grow and start to come up against bigger players who’s coaches know how to counter the system then it’s will be pointless if the “next” guy doesn’t want to play this way. Who do we get in I’ve no idea, I still maintain Amorim was our next coach to go with Viani.

We are just people on the internet talking bollocks.

Bollocks also is thinking Amorim would be our next manager.

Nobody on here knows anything other than the next word they type. The hierarchy at the club do. I’ll trust that

To be clear, when I say garbage I mean relative to what we are aiming for as a club at the start of each season. Therefore I am looking at purchases like Nunes, Phillips, Nico, Doku etc. They’re not actual garbage (apart from Phillips) but are they proving to be a good ROI? Was it worth penny-pinching and buying at a level or two below top-class? I don’t think it’s unfair to say that it hasn’t paid off.
Right but we are really looking at the January and this summer window the rebuild.

I think I would judge Nico Nunes and Doku at the end of this season. Also I don’t think there is anything amazing on the wings out there certainly not of the right age as well

Just my opinion, Sporting director comes to use, Sporting playing good attacking football, Pep not resigned, Amorim given ultimatum to sign for United or never, shits the bed goes to United, Pep signs for another few years. I reckon had he not signed for United and Sporting had carried on in the same vain then he would have come to us due to the Sporting connections, Pep would’ve gone on his sabbatical.

I think anyone thinking its the most successful manager in history thats holding our amazing players back from winning would get a reality check as soon as another manager comes in and it becomes apparent that with the exception of Rodri and Haaland, our squad is arguably worse than Spurs.

He’s given the ultimatum to sign for the rags or never, or wait for us? Surely he’d wait for us if that’s your belief he was our next manager. Why would he sign for those cunts otherwise?

The team isnt functioning properly at the moment and being stubborn while watching us suffer is pretty poor to be honest? Its SO easy to break through us its unreal but to ignore that is close to arrogance rather than accepting it and trying to stablise it.

To be fair I wouldn’t want to leave city either. Why would anyone ever want to leave this beautiful club!

Of course Pep could do better. But just look at our squad, it's not like any other manager would win the league with these players would they?
