Will we win the league this season?

City have dropped the ball significantly.

liverpool showing how to strengthen when on top.

Pep, Txiki and Co's decision to not strengthen the squad last year will haunt us for years to come.

Players brought in are mainly mediocre. Any outfield player brought today will be a panic buy.

Donnarumma will cause more problems than he solves as his kicking is worse than Traffords. Those in denial about this will soon get a wake up call.
It's an absolute myth that Donnarumma can't kick a football.

Yes he isn't in the same league as the world's best at it. Who is?

But some people are acting like he wears clowns shoes every game.

You've obviously not watched how PSG coped with Donnarumma's lack of ability on the ball under pressure. If Donnarumma is in our side, I'll give you 3 games to realize how bad this is compared to Ederson/Trafford/some other keeper good on the ball.

Moreover, PSG had the ability to overcome Donnarumma's lack of ability on the ball - with excellent passers at both fullbacks and center backs even when under enormous pressure. We can't cope as PSG did.

Most of the teams that have won us leagues you could say weren’t built on ready made world class players.

A young Joe hart, zaba, Kompany, Barry and others weren’t considered world class. Players like David silva had massive potential when we signed him, but wasn’t a proven winner at the time.

People have lost all sense of patience and want instant results and lose the plot when we don’t win the league every year
I remember putting a post up about how amazed i was that we signed David Silva and got a reply saying 'calm down its not David Villa'

Top 4 (at best)

Unfortunately (and as Rodri stated) we have reacted too late (from the treble winning seadon timeline)

Yes, we got 4 in a row but what we saw last year, the panic buys in January, the cwc and now the beginning of this season - are the consequence of that standing still with the squad to get the 4th title in a row

Instead of doing the correct thing of bringing in fresh blood to play alongside KDB and some other key players who would have shown them guidance on the pitch and instill that winning mentality

We are left with:
-A host of new players with no PL experience
- Those who are very raw
- Players whose legs are no longer there or the mentality has switched off after winning everything there was to win
- And some in positions where they are not good enough

I find it even weirder that some posters want him to fail before he's even got here.

He's a proven winner. The way we are playing at the minute we need a top shot stopper.

He fits that bill.

For me hes a top keeper and only time will tell.

We’ve gone from the smartest men in the room to a joke operation.

Spending the final hours fumbling over a new GK when having no right back costs us every week is mind boggling.

Surely where we are now was not the plan at the start of the Summer ?

Difficult to disagree with this, although there are clearly obstacles the club has encountered and try to circumvent, just to add balance.

Dippers look odds on for back to back and could go further and as things stand it doesn't look like we can stop them. I'd hate to see those cunts get four in a row.

Not worried. It's already incredibly difficult to do back-to-backs. But the difficulty between doing two and then doing three increases exponentially, i.e. it's not 2+2, it's 2 squared followed by 4 squared. Then going from three to four in a row is 16 squared. Rough estimate obviously, but that's the order of difficulty, according to me. Everybody's trying to stop you, and they get more and more determined about it. It becomes everybody's cup final.
I wouldn't attach too much importance to what happened yesterday at Anfield, by the way. How many of our titles did we win when we lost at Anfield? Arsenal have got some players who can play. So have Chelsea. So have we, by the way, although it doesn't look like it at present. Let's see where we all are at Christmas, or even the end of November.

Liverpool have been extremely active in the transfer market so have not been complacent. Can't see anyone finishing above them. The CWC shown me that our defending has not improved from last year and will continue to drag us down. Also our 1 dimension forward play that includes 1 centre forward and no plan b doesn't inspire confidence for the season either. Looks like we have let our advantage from a few years ago slip.

Yep, footballs a funny old game but bloody hell Liverpools window has been extraordinary. Have you seen their ins and outs ? and thats without Isak and Guehi. The bench will be ridiculous. Hard to see them not win 4 in a row at this point. They've started the season beating two rivals when they haven't even clicked into gear. There's a good chance they'll walk the league, quite possibly win CL and whatever else their in.

It's been a disaster, when you think about it. There's probably a number of reasons why it happened but there's no doubt that the UEFA and Premier League charges derailed us and caused us to take our eye off the ball—at a time when all our focus should have been on strengthening the squad and pushing forward toward more success.

Really? I think we should be pleased with top 4. If we make the top 4 and say win the FA Cup, that's an incredibly good season for us.

We are 6 points behind with 105 to play for. Course we can.

Any team in the league can say that, even Sunderland.

It's quite evident we are a step down from Liverpool this year.

We are showing the same issues right now as when we won 1 game in 14 last year.

Mentality of the team is shot to pieces as well.

Top 4 battle and a couple of cup runs is our level.

Like City I do not comment on out of context remarks. But I do think City fans need to get behind the team and manager when things don't appear to be going well.
