If this is happening and Ederson is going, what’s going on with Ortega ? We’ve just signed a number three so don’t need another one - not that Ortega would settle for that role

So you watched 5 games? If all someone had ever seen of Ederson was our CL winning run, they'd think he shits all over Donnarumma and any other keeper around.

He made multiple clangers last season, PSG fans were reportedly asking for him to be dropped in the earlier half of the season, his expected saves was over -3, his save ratio was lower than Ederson who apparently cant make saves. Plenty of people recognise he's poor with his feet and weak aerially. There is plenty to warrant a legitimate concern.

As you say, its looking like we wont have long to wait until find out either way.

Ortega's contract is up at the end of the season.

Until then, maybe off to a country where the loan or transfer window stays open longer?

How about we just agree they're both great keepers in their own right, one doesn't have to always be better than the other?

Donnarumma isn't wanted at PSG, and Ederson either isn't wanted, or doesn't want to be at City; neither of these things make them bad keepers.

I'm trying not to focus on one vs the other, as Ederson wanting to go doesn't give us the choice of one or the other; in fact it's Donnarumma or Trafford, and i know which one I'd rather be facing each week.

We lack characters, presence, and big game players, since we have now seen the ending of large parts of our treble winning team; Donnarumma brings an aura and a presence, and he's not bad in net either.

I think he's a great signing, in fact, I think he'll be the best signing we've made since Haaland.
