It's Quiet the £250m return

One thing for sure, we all know who the clubs number one target is for right back.

Now watch his contract situation.

As I have been told for weeks, Newcastle are wanting to open negotiations for a long term deal but nothing has happened.

I apologise to the ones who got the hopes up, I am equally disappointed. He was so adamant for weeks it was a position we was looking at still, and even yesterday evening I was told we are still actively in the market for a right back.

Let’s hope Nunes and Lewis prove us wrong and this season will be a success.
Are you still here?
You are Kalvin Phillips and I claim my £10.
; )

We will be without our main left back and one of our main attackers for a month and a bit because of AFCON as well.

Truth be told based on realistic signings that can stake a claim for a place in the squad

khushanov (love fest for him I hope it turns out good. Because we all still not
Over Bojinov that promise till his knee blew out) hence the the new Bojinov…. For
City fans.

Cherki
Donnaruma
Traff
Rjeinders
Ait Nouri
Marmoush

7/10 for me

I want you to be right, I just don't see it.

If isak scored 29 goals and wirtz got 18 assists they'd be lauded.

... it'd not even exceed what Salah offered on his own last year.

I genuinely think he's been so productive for them that all the signings they've made wont do much more than just mask the impact as he declines.

Gundo probably to go as Turkish transfer window still open. Kabore seems to be the only RB in the squad. Rico has RB position against his name but unfair as he's been thrown in there

Seen together when I look at the last two windows, coupled with the playing time given in spring and then the minutes handed out at CWC, I find it very difficult to see any coherent plan. It’s been largely reactionary all the way through, with some misreading of the tea leaves. We’ve signed some great players, whom I look forward to seeing, but we’ve also discarded a wealth of experience, and some of those who have remained are not necessarily better than those who left. We now have 3 groups of players: established players, new players, and an assortment of inconsistent, injury-prone players. Guardiola now has his work cut out nailing these groups together and steering them all through the coming months.

For outgoings still a few windows that don’t yet close.
Ortega could possibly find a destination in one of those leagues.
  • Scotland, Spain (23:00) and Portugal's (00:00) deadline is later on Monday.
  • The Eredivisie deadline is 24 hours later at 23:00 on Tuesday, 2 September.
  • Belgium and Switzerland's window closes on Monday, 8 September.
  • The Saudi Pro League window closes on Tuesday, 23 September.
  • Greece's window closes on Sunday, 12 September.
  • The Serbian Super Liga's deadline is on Friday, 17 September.

So

Donnarumma
Gvardiol
Rodri
Foden
Haaland

On paper that spine looks sort of world class and if you throw in 6 other players such as
Khusanov Stones Marmoush Cherki Ait Nouri and Reinjders that looks pretty formidable.

The bench might not be so impressive
When Marmoush & Ait Nouri go off to AFCON then ppl will appreciate the essence of squad depth

After last season I thought this teams biggest issues this summer was:
No RB
No one offering any goal threat besides Haaland
No one able to cover Rodri well enough
KDB needing to get replaced

Now when the window is now closed I would argue that we have solved none of these issues on the transfer market. Unsurprisingly as a result it seems like these issues are still there in the start of the season. Very disappointing window.

3/10.
