It's Quiet the £250m return

Rodri himself says we havent got the quality - Ill go with the Ballon Dor's opinion on that

Reis and Bah are kid on loan- how many loanees have come back to make a lasting impression on the first team ever? They are potentail nothing more

One of the 4 is an actual left back. one as you have acknowledged is made of glass, one will be needed for centre half and the other is a no.10

Never said I wanted Rodrygo...I know Sav wont score 30 or even 20 this season
He said that specifically about the person who is replacing them did he?
What he wants a fellow ballon d'or winner to sit in the stands till he doesn't fancy playing?

I get the feeling things are changing, clearly that is the plan. If it doesn't work then yeah we will go buy a senior defender, such is life.

Does any club in world football have two left backs of the supposed quality you're suggesting.

I never said you did, but there was no other top goal scoring winger on the market was there?

We've got two flawed right backs (as one is 20) that our legendary coach seems keen enough to develop.

Which right back moved this summer you'd play over them?
More pertinent question. why does it have to be a right back that did move....what about putting an offer in for one that hadnt thought about moving and turning their heads?

Did Isak think about moving before the scousers turned his head?

We need to move past thinking we just go for players who may move....we hve to be more than that as a club - we needto be ruthless and attract the very best to stay competative....you dont do that by going for only a few options...

You ID the very best in class and go from there...

Why not put a bid in for Hakimi, Livramento, Kounde, Dumfries, Munoz....who are we afraid of?

NO he said it aboutt he squad which is more damning

You are right. - things are changing - for the worst

We only have reconised one left back - we need someone who is a left back as an understudy - not someone who "can do a job"

It's taken me longer than I'd like to admit to get to that point, and I still struggle with it. Agree wholeheartedly.
Oh, mate me too. Used to form and losses like this would have ruined my weekend and had me obsessed about the game ahead- running numbers, permutatiohs of necessary outcomes etc.

Me dad was a straight up obsessive with sport as far back as i can remember. Ruined weeks, brooded, didnt speak after a loss for days. I simultaneously loved the teams he supported as it made us closer but i also hated it with how it impacted him.

I still struggle too but then i reflect on what else in life is more important.

Dumfries and munoz are the wrong age profile

Hakimi and Kounde likely say no

Livramento - isnt that who we are waiting for?

By our exocet missile of a central defender.
You know how you can expose a weak rb? By working the ball down the left and pinging crosses to put him under pressure as he is, generally, in the wrong place.

Anyhoo, ti's what it tis
But that didnt happen once against Brighton. All the threat came down our left, Mitoma was barely mentioned all game, you'd be forgiven for forgetting he even played, Minteh was the big problem behind Ait-Nouri.

Why is everyone so convinced there was a right back to sign of the right age, the right tactical profile, the right quality and actually available?

Sunderland signed Geertruida today from Leipzig. A versatile 25 year old who can play right back, centre back and defensive mid.

He is currently a better right back than Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis.

We don't have to sign the perfect right back. But a decent one would have been nice.

You know what he's actually one I could agree with.

I just think we'd still rather develop Rico and wait for Livramento from what it looks like.

Live in your fantasy world then mate, conversation is going nowhere.
