I would suggest that globalisation is alive and kicking but is now being carried out by China, look at the South China Sea 9 dash for example. If China is not after global dominance why do they have such vast armed forces? Is China under any threat?

I have many answers comments but don't want to de-rail this thread. Trump has emboldened China and made BRICS a realistic option for former allies. The world order as we knew it over the last 80 years is changing rapidly and not, in my opinion, for the best.

In my opinion, the current state of the overall situation is more due to the actions of the Biden administration.

Moreover, "embolden" is not quite the appropriate word. We have never lacked the courage to stand up to the United States. It is just that the industrial and military capabilities accumulated through decades of persistent development are now beginning to yield visible results. Thus, from an external perspective, it may appear as though China has suddenly found courage. But in reality, our courage stems from what this day commemorates and from all the battles that followed—those fearless individuals who dedicated everything to the nation in every field. Without them, none of the achievements (threats) you see today would exist.

Quite remarkable how weak the US is looking right now. The deadline Trump imposed has come and gone (again), Putin is hanging out with his best buds and spitting out lies to the extent you would think Ukraine had invaded Russia, no one gives any credence to what the US says anymore and the Trump Administration spend the day playing space cadets and planning to invade Chicago.

For now, with the way usa is going I see that changing the same with S Korea, these countries cannot rely on the USA as indeed Europe is finding out. Thing is Trump had broken the USA trust forever, no other country can trust them even once Trump and his idiots leave because it’s been shown they are the most powerful bullies in the world. NATO should now be planning for a world without them and maybe Europe has to be its own super power.
