City submit CL squad

Not even bothered to include 2 of Mbete, Wilson-Esbrand or Philips just in case. But there should be opportunities from the bench for some more U-21 players.
Luke Mbete has had 4 loans in 2 seasons, with 2 years on his contract left he'll either go back out on loan to a lower league club or be sold. Josh Wilson-Esbrand & Kalvin Phillips are both injured, I'm not sure of Wilson-Esbrand's injury status but there was never a chance of Phillips being registered regardless.

What do you think of the squad compared to last season?

Out: Akanji, Ederson, Gundogan, KDB, Walker
In: Ait-Nouri, Cherki, Donnarumma, Khusanov, Marmoush, Reijnders

And if Stones, Rodri and Bobb stay fit, then there is a significant upgrade.

City will do well this season if 2 or 3 from Foden, O'Reilly, Doku and Savinho perform.

It's also not clear what shape City will use. 4-3-3 or something else so as to get Marmoush inside with Haaland. This season Bobb and Marmoush have supported Haaland.

Kalvin Phillips is the 26th but has expectedly missed out.
Ah fair play, not really much point in considering him a squad member. So of the 26, we have 3 that won't be in consideration for any games unless there is a dramatic injury crisis at keeper and a plague in midfield.

4 keepers, Ortega in a free list place with Echeverri festering in Leverkusen and an association trained place vacant and our £100m Jack playing down the road with us still paying some of his wages. Pathetic.

Ortega I can't explain unless Betennellis injury is worse than believed.

Echeverri will be getting experience and strengthening, ready for the PL next season. There was no guarantee we'd even have a spot this season with so many plates spinning.

Why is an AT place being empty a problem? We've always had empty AT/CT places empty.

Everton apparently are paying £225,000 of Jacks supposed £300,000 wage, so nowhere even close to a majority. Most wanted him gone and are now not happy that he's gone.

Still pathetic?

Totally pathetic. Ortega has turned down moves just waiting to become a free agent in January and the club have let him and rewarded him with registration. Because of Ortega Echeverri was loaned - he wanted to stay at City & would have been an undeniable asset. Leverkusen are just a basket case. On a point of fact we have never had an association trained vacancy before, on the contrary association trained players have recently occupied free list places in order to allow more than 4 to be registered. (CT places are irrelevant.)

You would be the first person complaining if Trafford and Donnarumma picked up an injury and we had to start an academy kid instead of Ortega.

Because of Ortega Echeverri was loaned

You've just made that up. Echeverri was loaned because he wasn't going to play much, not to keep a space for our 4th choice keeper.

If you just invent ways to be angry, you'll be successful.

Ortega won't be a free agent in January though, he can sign a pre-contract with a club in another league and carry on pulling his wage with us but he won't be playing.

You have no idea beyond wildly guessing that Ortega & Echeverri going on loan were related. To forestall you asking, no, I don't know either and won't bother guessing.

What an asinine comment - we already have a third keeper - he's called Bettinelli btw.

Completely untrue, Echeverri (like Reis) was loaned reluctantly because of squad space. Allowing Ortega to remain and be registered has blocked his City career.

Inventing reasons to criticize our club management is entirely unnecessary, they have been asleep at the wheel for 18 months and we've ended up ill-prepared for the new season as a result. Not angry just very disappointed btw.

He will be able to negotiate his next contract as a free agent in January - which is the point. You're also entitled to reject my description of Ortega's continued registration - it could be misguided - but the disrespectful tone is rather unfortunate.
