Injuries 2025/26 | Kovacic could be ruled out for further 3-4 months (p37)

I wonder how "tough" some players are ..
What constitutes an injury that means you just can't play because you'd make it worse or you could play anyway ..
Perhaps I've being a bit harsh..

We’re the only team in the league that plays with such a high line, with centre halves in the opposition half, and the only team in the league whose defenders are routinely injured.

Anecdotal but it counts for something.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Bournemouth play similarly.

Last season, City's defenders were routinely injured which explains why City bought 3 young defenders into the club in January. Why might we expect City's defenders to remain routinely injured?

Absolutely not. ‘Bit of a reset.

With a spine of Donnarruma, JS, Rodri and Erling, things will turn around. We also still have Pep.

Would you swap him for Slot or Arteta?

It isn’t that bad…

A good result and performance against the rags would be very welcome, however.
Looks like a good spine on paper but unfortunately JS is made of polystyrene.

Bingo! Called this 2 weeks ago - you can set your watch by John Stones cant you. Cannot stay fit and this isnt going to suddenly improve now hes in his 30s.

How next week will go
Tuesday - "Its a wait & see situation" say the news outlets
Thurs - "Will John be available for the derby?" asks news outlets and City fans
Fri - Peps news conference "Unfortunately Johns leg has fallen off. Hes out till December/January"

something amiss with our medical/fitness department. Injuries in both Men's and Women's teams are really high. Goalie already gone down in Ladies Chelsea match. She looks ok but seems to have muscle issues

There is plenty of moaning here when players come back early (maybe push it) and then get injured again, so it’s no win. I think it’s got to be a pretty complex job to manage giving them the appropriate time to get them back match fit and giving them one extra game on the bench. Healing is never linear and it’s different for everyone.

Add to that.... Donnarumma may yet turn out to be Claudio Bravo Mk2.
Having been out for months, Rodri isn't likely to be at 100% for a few weeks.
Erling Haaland has a sponge head and his feet need a decent provider (which we ain't got)

Good on paper, untested on grass.

Stones usually comes back from international duty injured. This time it seems he went there slightly injured and they have been sensible for once. We dont know what the severity is but I wouldnt rule out him starting the derby yet.

Bad news for the Utd fans on here...

Uzbekistan FA say that "Abdukodir Khusanov felt unwell yesterday during Manchester City's match against Brighton. After tests, it was revealed that our player has a minor injury to his left calf muscle. According to preliminary findings, the recovery period is expected to be two weeks."
