There is a huge difference between the Irish, Italians, Poles, Carribeans, Indians etc. They intergrate and share a culture to an extent. Parts of the UK now resemble Islamic enclaves. The women walking round with faces covered to the eyes and the men staring at you like you don’t belong there. I grew up in Oldham, and I have been attacked numerous times for walking through the Asian areas as a kid. Thankfully doesn’t seem as bad now. I do appreciate they probably did it as a retaliation for the idiots who went “pa*I bashing” but the point still stands. Alien cultures to each other.well besides the word Anglo meaning English and some parts of language , we don't share anything with them any more than roman britain.
We are a mish mash of many outside influences, Englishness is not anglo saxon, it tis not plantagenet, hanovarian etc it is mongrel, it is multicultural, and it is unique
I am. English I am proud to be Englush I was born here, bur am. a produnt of imigration
My Parents are English
My grandparents are all Irish
I am cathiloc and of Irish hertage I iam proud to be of Irish Herirage, My Irish family are buried in moston cemetary alongside hundreds of Italians and Polish layed there for a century or so.
All proud to have lived here, Forgive me but I would take 1 Imigrant happy to live and work hard here over l indigenous **** willing to lay about doing fuck all
Yes it should and saying that suddenly millions of Brits have become racists just doesn't cut it.As the polls stand atm Farage is projected to be our next PM using immigration as his ticket. That possibility should give everyone pause to reflect on the appalling state of the main political parties and the mess they have got our country into.
I am serious. When did English ethnicity become immutable?8,000 Normans is a little bit more than the South Stand.
Besides, ethnicity is not race and it's not genetics, it's written on the label in my last post.
Come back when you're being serious.
I am serious. When did English ethnicity become immutable?
And English ethnicity must have been pretty shambolic if 8,000 "fighting age men" could colonise a nation of a million or two. And the civil wars must have been good for social cohesion, and "shared cultural traits and a common history". The odd workers' rebellion against the factory owners was also good for highlighting how much we had in common.
Your posts often remind me of that scene in Good Will Hunting where Matt Damon calls out the guy for reciting an argument from a text book word for word. It seems like a lot of your points are straight from a YouTube video? Is that so?
Blimey! That's me scuppered then.
Maybe you should try this World Wide Web thingy as well....
The concept of the "left's capture of the social sphere" in the UK suggests that progressive ideas and discourse have become dominant within certain social and cultural domains, particularly online, influenced by the rise of social media and influencer culture. This trend is seen by some as a significant shift from past eras where the left's focus was primarily on organized labor and economic structures, and it reflects contemporary debates about the intersection of left-wing politics, media, and popular culture
Now, you may disagree with the above but it ain't inept to believe it, it's not flat earth, it ain't spiritualism, it has merit, you don't want to bother debating it then fine, but don't hide your inadequacies behind condescension, it makes you look like a twat.

I’m still trying to understand this thread and what the UK has become, can you confirm what the ‘left’ have pushed too far on?Pretty simple really the left has pushed too far and people have had enough.
We’re up to 4 years away from an election. A lot can and hopefully will change in that time. Farage being a Trump wannabe being more widely recognised after Trump totally screws America being the most obvious. Farage’s barely disguised support for Russia over Ukraine being another thing that more people will realise. As the polls stand atm Farage is projected to be our next PM using immigration as his ticket. That possibility should give everyone pause to reflect on the appalling state of the main political parties and the mess they have got our country into.
I find this a convincing analysis of our current failing economic and associated political condition in terms of the post war direction taken and its divergence from that of our European neighbours - not that they haven't made some serious mistakes too.Come on, look at the issues that we’re facing today.
Over the past 20-30 years the the idea of ‘progression, intersectionalism, identify politics there’s various names for it, all stemming from left wing roots has had a huge impact on this country. Putting people into groups and causing division within society, Perpetuated and encouraged at universities, embodied in the civil service and government offices.
In my view, it has eroded the fabric of society. In combination with this pathetic political system with spineless politicians who only think of their short term interests.
I know you view things differently but this is just my opinion. Not from good old USA or any other part of the world.
Like most things in life it is about balance I’m and I do fear that this country has shifted too much in one direction hence the backlash.
Yours very respectfully
Gio
If things carry going downhill as fast as they are a GE could be earlier than that plus the Welsh & Scottish elections will happen next year. We’re up to 4 years away from an election. A lot can and hopefully will change in that time. Farage being a Trump wannabe being more widely recognised after Trump totally screws America being the most obvious. Farage’s barely disguised support for Russia over Ukraine being another thing that more people will realise.
No chance of an early election unless things are going really well.If things carry going downhill as fast as they are a GE could be earlier than that plus the Welsh & Scottish elections will happen next year.
