City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

So the Premier League are looking at our figures from 2009 to 2018 or retrospectively but new APT rules won't allow them to do the same with shareholder loans?

Red cartel clubs being found in breach of financial rules could never happen, oh no!

There's the truce. We've probably said ok if you won't look back at how much has been put in over the last few years then we will get huge incoming sponsorship deals that will blow your socks off.

The elite rich …

No club in England has ever spent so much in a transfer window as Liverpool have just done. And no club in England has ever spent as much on one player as Liverpool have just done (twice in one window)

Elite rich… the club that trousered the Pools money for decades…. Ffs.

If we win the 115 i hope the club hammers him and anyone like him if they continue to call us cheats

Don't think the club would have kept fighting it of they came to the opinion the rules were lawful and it was a lost cause. That would be irresponsible, particularly with the ongoing 115 and where that is at.

Where does any official statement claim the Etihad deal baing passed is a part of this settlement?
An official statement of that kind would be an admission of a loss for the PL. They aren't going to *admit* defeat in a public statement as part of a settlement, no matter how many compromises they made.

I get where you are coming from. If we didn't get the Ethiad deal through -- and what of the other blocked deals? -- then there's no way this is a win for City. It's also hard to judge the scope of the win if we don't know whether the Ethiad deal was a one time exception as part of the settlement, or was more of a precedent defining event as to our future sponsorships.

But the best we're going to get is the reporting from City sources and the like. We have to trust them -- not fun -- because it's all we are going to get.

It’s a significant win. If you don’t see it that way, great, you crack straight on.
I see it as a significant win. The objective was to get these deals approved. It is being reported that these deals will be approved as part of the settlement. City have never denied the principle of FMV. We challenged APT 1 and APT 2 because we felt that challenging the lawfulness of the rules was our most aggressive option in being able to get our sponsorship deals approved. As it is, we seem to have got the result by reaching a settlement with the PL. This might not set a precedent for future challenges by any club, but it overturns the initial blocking of our 2023 sponsorship deal with Etihad.

BBC dressing it up as a win for the PL…but it really isn’t. They’ve conceded their stance on Etihad deal was unlawful. All we have conceded is accept the amended rules.
Beeb only pick and choose to report what suits them

BBC article omits the following key passage…

The Tribunal found in Manchester City’s favour, ultimately deciding that all three of the unlawful APT provisions were not severable from the remainder of the APT Rules with the effect that the APT Rules were void and unenforceable in their entirety.

The BBC are so in on City being guilty narrative dictated by their Red masters that they can’t bring themselves to report factually when it comes to us.

Ostensibly this is completely separate from the 115 case, but I can't imagine we'd have agreed to drop it if we felt we were about to get fucked over on the 115.

I think that's exactly the thinking in Abu Dhabi. That's the style of the Sheik and Khaldoon. They're keeping their powder dry for the big one (115). They also understand the importance of saving face — that is, for the PL.

Remember when Khaldoon was supposedly overheard saying he would rather employ the best lawyers in the World to tie the PL up for years rather than give in?

I think that’s what we have been doing and, to get us to stop, the PL have given City something worth taking.

We don’t know what it is but our usual sources are spelling it out. That’s all we are getting.
