Injuries 2025/26 | Kovacic could be ruled out for further 3-4 months (p37)

Marmoush isn’t a big loss.

Be reet.

We can do without him for 2-3 weeks, but we'll feel his absence if he is out for 2-3 months.

As things stand, we have 4 fit attacking players for 3 positions: Haaland, Bobb, Doku and Savinho(?). Let's hope Foden is ready. 4-5 players for 3 positions is not enough. We may need to play Nunes in forward positions...

Are they all not available then?

Not even an extensive list. Kovacic remains out, khusanov withdrew from international duty due to an injury, savinho hasnt featured all season with an injury and just to make a fieldable 11 of at least doubtful players, Bettinelli is also injured.

He didn't have 28 league goals... even when you add up Bundesliga

He scored 7 for us last year, 3 against Newcastle in his third game, and was fantastic. Then he played a lot of minutes only scoring against Brighton, Leicester, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa while Haaland was out, and was just not impressive

Decent player but with Haaland back, he plays on the wing and, imo, is pretty terrible out there so I'm not bothered
Put it this way mate, he scored 7 in 16 for us in the league last season, that is almost twice what Doku and Savinho got in an entire season last season COMBINED, with FOUR GOALS.

When our alternatives have no goal threat, he will in fact be missed, whatever it is you personally think.

City’s training fault caused Marmoush to get clattered in a match by opposition player, caused Stones to pull up in England training and you can go on and on.

Give it a rest
Good point.
I should have thought things through a bit more.
Still, every day’s a school day.

Just in a reciprocal manner, though, did Marmoush getting clattered cause injuries to Foden, Kovacic, Cherki, Ait-Nouri, Silvinho, Bettinelli, Ederson (before he left) and Phillips?
Oh, and Stones was injured when he turned up at England training, not during.
At least last season was injury free for the squad…

Yep. Apparently Phil, Savinho and Gvardiol look good for Sunday though.
Are they in training? Foden has been training for a while but hasn't played.

I saw on City xtra that Kovacic is getter better too. I think City have a lot of short term injury problems but not so many long term injuries at the moment.

There's an interesting article on BBC Football re Premier League clubs and the international window https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cp8wk7dk9e5o.

If it's correct, City had 12 players on international duty (Liverpool had 21, Brentford 18). I think City's numbers were reduced by injuries. Even so, the numbers surprised me as I expected that City would be much more adversely affected compared to rivals but now most Premier League clubs have internationals.

This is pretty unheard of. Any player who is added to the list is a crucial blow. Would marmoush on his own being out for a bit be a huge blow, not really no. But if 10 others are then it's dire if you're playing 2 games a week for X months.

Gvardiol, Stones, RAN, O'Reilly, Lewis, Foden, Cherki, Savinho(?), Khusanov...missed the international games due to injuries. 21 internationals with them.

Its not unheard of. Plenty of others clubs had this issue just last season. Sadly this is becoming the new norm, it's inevitable the players will break when they're given minimal rest and more games.

This is why our decision to not have as big a squad as possible last season was a very stupid one, to follow it up with another season where we have elected not to fill the squad once again, is just unfathomable to me.
